Loved it but too many problems

I've owned the car for 11 years, 153000 miles. I still love the heads up display on the windshield. The radio (only) is still rocking good and that's important...because I use it to drown out all the alarms that are constantly going off. GMC replaced the transmission, and sort of repaired the lift gate debacle, and was never able to stop the water leaks from the moon roof. I too have mold and odor inside it. The suspension and traction control have permanently failed and now the ride is really bad. They would disengage then resume randomly over the years . There were really nice features in spite of my complaints. Trading it now but not for any GM product. Really a shame too.

Moving on to a different make and model.

I absolutely loved this car from the first time I sat in the drivers seat. It comfortable fits 7 people, with ample room for luggage. . Looks nice, inside and out. However driving it and reliability are another story. In the less than 2 yrs I've had it, I've replaced the transmission twice. Its always run rough, and idiot lights come on and off randomly. The latest reason its headed to the shop is for the timing chain. My mechanic actually suggested trading it in a yr ago. I should have listened.

Expect major repairs after 10 years!

Our family car had 51k miles and after year 10 the transmission started to slip. With such low mileage why would the vehicle begin to clunk out? It surely lessens the trade-in or sell value. I truly wish cars lasted longer. Buyers should def grab hold of extended warranties!

Transmission was a total failure!

Acadia was comfortably equipped. I bought vehicle because of its size and the many features offered. The paint finish was quite appealing. However, the transmission problem has caused me to classify the car as a LEMON.

Hold GMC responsible, learn to research in depth b

We bought this car used less than a year ago, from a family member who owns a used lot. He had no idea all the problems with this car. We noticed leakage in the ceiling right away after getting this vehicle, other problems followed, such as not starting the battery being completely submerged in water. Went on vaction for two weeks and took our other suv, came home to the floorboards being soaking wet and starting to mold all the way to the back seat wbere my 2 yr old daughter sits. Got to searching around in the car, and found a sticker that said the motor had been replaced at 75,ooo miles, it only had a 100,ooo at the time and had just started making clunking noises. So i got to doi g reasearch on this car, as i do so i can start to fix the things wrong. I have found that there are 20 recall on the yr 2008, make arcadia, only a few aplly to my actual model, but i find it conventionally funny that every thing thats going wrong with mine there are recalls for it only months after my make and model and even right before it. If you do just a lil reasearch on this vehicle as far as leaks the comiants are across the board all the way back to 2004 and even on the 2019 new models. Almost every complaint is the same, either the roof leaks, even with no sunroof, they find water in door, and floorboards. GMC HAS YET TO ADMIT THERE ACTUALLY A LEAKING PROBLEM OTHER THAT DRAIN TUBES ARE TO SHORT! thats a freaking joke. They obviously dont care to fix the problem as it has consisted for well over 10 yrs or they dont know the problem thereselfs, so they just keep denying there is one. This is very dissappointing for me because i was extremely happy with the thought of me getting an awesome suv, as well as it being fully loaded. But im trading jt in while i still can get something out of it and its not a total loss. If you read any of these reviews you cam tell there are leaking problems that cost these consumers out of pocket any where frkm several hundred to thousNds of dallors to never really get a solution. There are also electrical problems that are mostly caused by the water leaks. Hope this helps some one. My advice do your reasearch and look for something else, looks arent everything, dont put yourself in danger or in depth.
