Powerful for the price

Extended cab has 3 doors and 4 seats. Both front seats are extremely comfortable and easy to sit in for a long ride. V6 has enough power to do burnouts on demand, sadly the steering wheel sits a little high and is not adjustable.

Easy & Inexpensive to maintain. Fun to drive,

The drive-train is rock solid, the interior design is cheap but effective. Good gas mileage and serves all of my purposes very well. I would purchase this truck again and again.

Tough. Reliable. Made in America

My father has owned his 02’ GMC Samoma 2wd Reg Cab 2.0L since 04’ with 4,xxx miles. Today in 19’ it has 57,xxx miles. It honestly has done nothing but worth for most of the 50+ thousand miles. It’s a bare bones truck that just works. Lots of firewood hauled. Pulling a small trailer on occasion, garage to the dump ect. Never a problem.

Goes anywhere I want it to go!

This is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. The 4.3L V6 is darn near bulletproof, and the 4WD means I can go anywhere and pack about anything I need. Best bang for your ?truck?!!

Nice truck

It's nice, thought it would be a smoother ride with the zq8 suspension. I have owned 3 S series trucks. It's in decent shape for its age.

Great on gas

It's a solid daily driver for anyone on a tight budget. It's not a real show stopper, but it gets me from point A to point B. The fuel economy on the 2.2l 4 cylinder is great, but the power is non-existent. Having the 4x2 model the rear end can get really squirrelly in the snow. Putting on a good set of winter tires and weight in the bed helps remedy tatt nicely. It's a relatively cheap truck to fix as long as you are up to date with maintenance. The downside is replacing the fuel pump can be a real hassle due to rust. Rust on the body of these trucks is inevitable (especially on the wheel arches) and probably impossible to stop. Overall the GMC Sonoma is dependable, solid, and a fuel efficient truck.

Best truck I've ever had

Super reliable. 165,0000 miles and running like a champ. All it wants is oil changes and gas. My next truck will be a gmc. I highly recommend this truck.

Best Small Truck for the Buck$

I've owned other small trucks and the Sonoma out performed them all. The 4.3 V6 gives plenty of power and torque. Hauls heavy loads and can pull 2900 on the bumper hitch or 5000 with an equaizer hitch. If you buy one with the ZQ8 factory suspension package, it will be fun to drive when empty, with a 2" lower stance, improved handling and minimum body roll. It's very reliable and on the rare occasion it needs repair, the parts are inexpensive and easy to find. The interior controls are well placed, with no hiiden or hard to reach buttons. Seats are comfortable, even on long trips. I recommend the extended cab model. better seating adjustments and you have room to keep items out of view behind the seats.
