I bought my 2020 Terrain Elevation edition in September

I bought my 2020 Terrain Elevation edition in September of 2022 with 30k miles on it. Since then it has gone in every single winter due to the “reduced engine power” light coming on and the car being thrown into limp mode, which I had never experienced before owning this car and it’s pretty dangerous to drive when it’s in limp mode due to the terrible acceleration. Each time I’d bring it to my GMC certified dealership, they’d either just thermal wrap the turbo sensor or basically reset some codes to then tell me “I need to let it warm up longer” (mind you, it has remote start so I’d either let it warm up until the remote start turned itself off from its timer, or I’d go start it myself and give it a solid 15 minutes). This winter has been the worst with limp mode engaging multiple times and each time resulting in a trip to the dealership for a “fix”. It’s currently sitting in my driveway not being driven until they can get me in for a more “permanent fix”. Whatever the heck that means. I know these turbo issues are a thing with these cars after doing tons of research (that I should have done prior to purchasing the vehicle). That being said - it’s a comfortable car. Interior is nice. Exterior is sharp looking. It rides nice when it’s drivable, hah. It handles driving in the winter really well and mine came with the panoramic sunroof which is a really nice feature. I just don’t think it was engineered well. It’s a shame because when it works it’s great but I don’t trust the car anymore. I’m honestly not too happy with GMC for not having a recall for something that seems to be really common. Plan to trade for a Honda or Toyota after they repair the turbo issue.

I have had this car 5 years 90000 km.

I have had this car 5 years 90000 km. No problems so far, it has been exceptionally good. The only money I have spent is gas and oil changes. I. Would buy another one

Piece of xxxx SUV.

Piece of xxxx SUV.Oil consumption issues that GMC has known about since 2012 and they have not resolved the issue. Still making defective GMC terrains!!!if you have $7,300.00 on hand then buy this SUV because you’ll need a new motor and you will probably be out of warranty by then!!!

I had my 2020 Terrain for 5 years before I had any major

I had my 2020 Terrain for 5 years before I had any major issues out of it. My brake booster needed replaced. After about a month of it being out the shop someone hit and totaled it. Very sad day. I love my Terrain

Bought it 2 months ago and it’s been in the shop for 1

Bought it 2 months ago and it’s been in the shop for 1 month of that. First was evap emissions issue, now the fuel pump is bad. The vehicle has 28k miles it should have no issues. It’s also extremely underpowered. It handles very nicely and is a nice looking, comfortable vehicle. But I would not recommend buying it. We are in the process of selling it back to the dealership for a loss.

Great Reliability

Great vehicle, 65,000 miles and not a single issue, hoping to get atleast another 100k miles out of it. Extremely reliable. A family member of mine bought a Honda that broke down at 16,000 miles and got stranded. Would absolutely recommend a 2018+ terrain

Run away

Fell in love with this car as soon as we saw it. Unfortunately it has been the worst vehicle I have ever owned. Frequent breakdowns resulted in weeks long waits for parts. At 61k miles the car started falling apart. Dash lights quit. Brake pedal broke. Cruise doesn't work. The car is two years old and had cost almost $7000 in repairs this year.

I LOVE the power

I really enjoy the Terrain. Traded in our beloved Mercedes R350. It was dream to driving on the highway. Our list for new vehicle was easy to get in and out without climbing up or down. No leather seats, hate leather seats, panoramic roof, engine power, get up and go, some luxurious in the vehicle, an easy info console. Before we took a test drive, we did our following tests. How easy to get in and out of the vehicles, leg space (our son is 6'4"). Only wanted two row seating, comfort seating. We checked all other makes. Spend awhile day going from different Dealerships of different makes and models. Didn't want to speak to car salesman, just let us do our preliminary test, on different makes and models. Then we look at the warranties. Finally took take a test drive. Was blown away at the get up and go of the Terrain, pleasantly surprised at the safety features and options it comes with. After almost a month, trips outside the city to the mountains and back. We are really happy with the purchase of the Terrain. Seven years warranty bumper to bumper, ten years on the powertrain. The true fuel economy really surprised me, it doesn't bother me that I have use 91 fuel because of the 2 liter engine. Had to use it on the Mercedes so no change there.
