2017 Honda CR-V consumer reviews

Great SUV for zipping around for a good price. Great gas mileage for the long road trips our family takes. We wanted a car with good trunk space for long trips too.

I originally purchased a 2016 Honda CR-V for me and my family. After going on a long road trip and enjoying the comfort of the car. I was feeling good about the purchase. We had the vehicle for only 5 months...Then life happened. My fianc� and my two year old daughter were on the freeway heading home from dropping off my 15 year old daughter. I was at work, I got a frantic call from my fianc� saying she has just been in an accident, I could hear my little one in the background crying and confused. When I arrived to the scene, I saw the aftermath of what a Volvo semi truck vs. Honda CR-V looked like. It had smashed the passenger side of the CR-V and all side curtain air bags deployed (which saved my family from flying glass debris), windows busted out, the side of the car was shredded and the car itself called 9-1-1. One thing I noticed right away, the passenger door was pushed in, and yet the crash bar in the door, stopped the front tire of the big rig from pushing the door in further or ripping the door off. My family was shaken up, but, most importantly, they were safe. No major injuries. So, knowing that the safety of my family is more important than anything. I repurchased another Honda CR-V. I bought the 2017 model and have been very happy with the purchase and a new respect for the safety features of this vehicle.

This vehicle has so much room in it and is perfect for me and my family. The way this car drives and handles is unmatched I love it and the awesome cargo space is another great feature I want one sooo bad

Liked the style, roominess and the options and color. Have purchased 3 other vehicles for me and my daughter from Grainger Honda in the past 19 years.

Have been smelling gasoline in the cabin after starting the car for the last few months. I read about problems with this engine---gas diluting out the oil and entering the oil system. Turns out my 2017 CRV with the 1.5L turbo 4 now has the same problem. Oil levels run high due to the oil being diluted with gas. So, there are major health issues---hydrocarbons in the passenger compartment and a major risk that the engine will fail prematurely due to gas being mixed with oil. There are also reports of the car stalling at high speeds. What an absolute waste of money on a car that is hardly over a year old. An no solution from Honda at this time. None. No help from the dealership. Only suggestion was that you need to change the oil very frequently to get rid of the gas contamination. No offer to help pay for that. Apparently had a major recall in China for the same problem......but here in the United States---nothing but silence. Avoid this vehicle with this engine.

This car do not have all the bells and whistles but it does have the bluetooth and usb connection for my cellphone. And it directly connects to the audio system of the car such that I can use google map as a navigation tool. Drives very well. A bit high off the road so will have to get use to that. Very spacious back row and cargo space. Did not have a cover for the cargo space which was disappointing. All car should have that. Very quiet on the highway and good power when over taking. Not too much blind spots on the right hand side.

Great for commuting and long travel, awesome trunk space and seat flexibility for hauling. Perfect car for familes, and so far seems to be low maintenance and reliable!

For the money, CR-V is an amazing vehicle. Great mileage, comfortable, peppy, pleasing electronics. Steady on the road, cruise control keeps up, stereo & bluetooth connections work well.

My previous whichever?s was a CRV and this new one does not disappoint. We test drove many different SUVs of many different manufacturers. Ultimately we thought the CRV was the most comfortable, best value, best features and best gas mileage. I drove it across country this summer during a move and it was so comfortable for everyone in the vehicle. We had this vehicle stolen and when all was said and done I chose to purchase the exact same one to replace it!

These cars are super reliable. I have had 3 since 1997 and will always replace them with the same make and model as long as they are available.
