Best Bang For Your Buck! Most Functional Vehicle!

I think that this vehicle is the perfect inexpensive route if you want a vehicle that is perfect for dog lovers, campers, and all around functional cars. Honda did not try to hard to make a car with pointless bells and whistles. Every part of the cars has a solid function and purpose. Love it so much!

Great camping car, not the best for babies.

Great gas milage, minor issues and design inconveniences are very minimal (i.e. having a carseat and getting to it with a suicide door). It's a pain but worth it for the honda reliability. Also the drivers side window falls in often due to a known design flaw, needing replacement and other minor rather inexpensive issues at 100k miles, but would get another element in a heartbeat. Wish they continued the line!

Amazing Versatile Car

As the title says, this is an amazingly versatile car. The smaller engine gives the car great all-around gas mileage. The higher cabin gives the car great headroom for even people taller than 6' tall. The ability to fold-up the rear seats completely against the wall within 5 minutes allows for huge amounts of storage. The seats can even completely be removed with an additional 5 more minutes. They can fold completely flat in the event you want to sleep in your car (though, not sure why you'd want to do that.) The rear suicide doors allow for ease of getting out in compact, parking tight city scenes. And, it's a Honda... so it's super reliable and rarely ever needs any work outside of routine maintenance. The roof racks allow for flexible storage if needed. And, the interior is completely water proof to allow for ease of clean-up with even a water house if necessary. (While I have been tempted, I've never tried that. Just the idea of hosing out the back of your car seems too good to be true.) Great car for a young, active couple. We raised our two kids on this car from 1 to 9. No regrets! Shame they stopped making it.

Loud, not very stylish, but incredibly reliable.

the Honda Element is an incredible vehicle for driving and getting around. If you are buying plants, taking your dogs to to the park, going shopping...this car is it. If you have to travel long distance, enjoy listening to music while you drive, or are looking to impress other drivers, then, this is not your car. Mine has 133K miles and I think the major issues I have dealt with are: replace the alternator, and the steering fuel pump. A couple of light bulbs here and there.
