Two month review

Purchased EX 2011 w/7600 miles. It has 10300 now with 70 pct hwy and 30 pct city driving. Very spacious, pickup is adequate not spirited, but will pick up speed quikly after about two seconds of hard acceleration. Reliability, don't have it that long so can't really give a true report on that. When it comes to gas consumption that I can truly give details about it. Traveling at 80-85 I am getting from 17.5-18.8 depending if uphills are involved. If doing 60-65 I get 18.5-20.5. Now when doing 50-55 I start getting around 21-23 as high as 25plus a few times again depending if hills are involved 45-55 definitely above 23-25...all based on minimum of 20 mile trips and using the onboard mileage computer. I think that's great for its size a for regular gas usage. Hope this helps...for the interior room,it's size I can't ask for for more I'm very happy nd satisfied. I previously had v6 4x4 ford escape and didn't get this mileage on it, though I loved it and had great reliability with the Escape.

Worst car I have owned

I bought this car as a brand new vehicle in October 2011. Within one year I have had transmission problems twice. First time within one month, there was a leak in the transmission fluid and they replaced a valve. Now within 10 months, they say the transmission needs to be replaced. This is my first Honda and I think I am going to stay away from them. To top it all, the Honda care will cover only 6 days of rental where as they are going to take 10 days to replace the transmission. Poor quality and poor service. My suggestion, don't buy if you buy buy it with extended warranty. You never know when you will need it.

2011 Honda Pilot Review

Excellent car. The only negative we encountered was the gas mileage. I now have a 2005 Acura MDX, and it gets as good of gas mileage as the 2011 Honda Pilot. Great family vehicle for 5 plus 2 dogs. Excellent storage space.

nice car

we are happy with the car. Feels much bigger than our old pilot and the gas mileage is better. We will have to get use to the black interior.

well spent money

after months of research and comparisons this style and size of SUV had the best over all design and engineering for our needs. the interior is very well engineered. the performance has been nothing but great. It does only have now 10300 miles the last 3500 miles was a cross country road trip and it worked like a charm. the gas miles was as good as expected for the MPH driven and size of vehicle. like us all we all would like better fuel efficiency but the industry has its hands tied by the corp. oil and fed / state tax lobby. for every extra mile per gallon is that less profit and tax revenue. If your needs are for a growing family this is the car that will not let you down. hoe this helps

Good SUV

Bought new in June 2011. I have EX-L model. Replaced a 2006 Buick Rendezvous. Had a couple of issues - inside mirror was distorted and molding around driver's side window was crumpled - dealer took care of each. Now have over 14,000 miles on vehicle. Vehicle is reliable, sturdy, and roomy. Great visibility. Not real great on gas mileage but knew that going in. Car has a back-up camera in mirror but should have back-up sensors also because camera distorts distance.

2011 Honda Pilot EX-L

We recently purchased a 2011 Honda Pilot EX-L to replace our 2004 Pilot EX-L. They improved the interior layout making its interior bigger, improved the second row seat adjustments, improved the 3rd row seat deployment, and added electric control to the front passenger seat. EX-L also has a back up camera with display in the rear view mirror. The rear door/ hatch has a window that opens now as well. Great family SUV at a great value.

Most Reliable Vehicle I've Ever Owned

I have had 4 Hondas,2 CRV's, 2 Pilots. Love them both. Needed a bigger SUV, so I bought a Pilot and it's the best vehicle I have ever owned. Economical for a full-size SUV, stylish, rides so smooth, NEVER needs a repair. Honda's are the most reliable! Not too expensive. I don't mind my monthly payment because I have peace of mind. Love my Pilot, it's one of my favorite things!! And I'm hard to please!!

Meets our needs very well

The Pilot is very well suited for our needs. It has a great deal of configuration flexibility and plenty of room. We have a summer home in the mountains, so we need to transport alot; we need good traction for gravel mountain roads and, at times, we need to accomodate 6 or 8 people. The Pilot is perfect. It rides will and has lots of storage compartments. I am proud to own it. The only downside is that I would have liked a bit more MPG.

Beware Don't Buy 2011 Honda Pilot

Purchased 2011 Pilot to replace a 2007 Pilot and went from the best car ever owned to the worst. It was uncomfortable, the seats were hard and put me in great pain, had no storage, not even a usuable drink holder, was hard to drive. It ws so miserable, that I didn't drive it, and with less than 3,000 miles at great financial loss to me got rid of it . The 2008 Pilot is the last year the 2007 styling was used, so I shopped online and traded the 2011 in on a 2008 with only 23,000 miles 800 miles away. The 2008 is a dream car again, comfortable, usuable interior room, easy to manuever, great rear storage. Why Honda changed a winner design so much that the dream became a nightmare has me shaking my head. With such poor interior design I won't be purchasing any more Hondo's.
