AC Problem

This is first summer for my brand new Honda Pilot car and I notice when AC in on and car is not moving there is some kind of moaning very loud noise coming from the engine. I took my car to the dealer from where I purchased this vehicle. I was informed that Honda Motors is aware about this issue in 2012 Pilot but they don't have any solution as of yet. I am very surprise and upset that despite Honda Motor is aware about this issue till the date Honda did not solve this problem. Please make a note that the noise is very loud when AC is on and car is not moving. This noise is very annoying.

Minivan Alternative

With the kids getting older, traded our trusty minivan for a Honda Pilot EX 2012. Very quiet, comfortable, and easy to drive. Can easily handle 7 adults. Averaged 26MPG on a recent 400 mile highway trip and get around 20MPG city. Would strongly recommend to larger families (3+ kids) looking for a long term vehicle.

Oh, my aching back!

As with all Honda products, my 2011 Polit has been virtually problem-free. HOWEVER, as I drive a lot, this has got to be the most uncomfortable vehicle that I have ever driven. I drive 40,000 miles per year and can't wait to get rid of this thing. Honda needs a complete redesign on their seats. Also, the road noise I'd ridiculous as well. If your running to the grocery store and back, it'd be okay, but any trip longer than 30 minutes, and you'll be heading to the chiropractor regularly.

Love this Suv

I have rode alot of SUVS and cars, but I love my 2012 Honda Pilot 4WD EX. Handles and drives awesome. I love all the features this car has. I think SUV is the best SUV I rode and owned.

Good - But Not As Good As Earlier Version

Interior is nice, though gearshift and parking brake release have taken a little while to get used to. Seats are very comfortable. Performance is so-so. Only getting between 16mpg and 17mpg with mixed City/HW driving. Could use more horsepower - especially when having to move quickly. Road noise is very noticable especially on freeway. Almost like white noise. Have to turn up radio to hear over road noise. Space is great. Can haul alot of things - especially with 3rd row down. Exterior is boxier than a lot of other SUVs of similar size/price. Wish it was a little more stylish. Had a 2004 before I got the 2012. Went with the Pilot due to history with Hondas (Accords, Pilots, Civics, Odesseys, and Preludes) - very reliable and requires minimal maintenance - and 3rd row. Gave serious consideration to the Jeep Cherokee.

Love the 2012 Pilot

I?ve had my 2012 Honda Pilot Touring 4WD for about a month. My main alternatives were Dodge Durango, and Chevy Traverse/ Buick Enclave. They are all about equal as far as power and road feel. The Honda?s ride is excellent, extremely smooth and quiet. The Honda has the best roominess and visibility of all the competition. I took a group of co-workers to lunch and it handled the load (8 men total, averaging 200 lbs. each) surprisingly well. Looks-wise, I wouldn?t say it?s lovely, just good, and definitely not ugly duckling, like the 2011. (I would not have considered the 2011 Pilot.) Honda recently updated the looks and interior control arrangement and it makes a huge difference. The minivan-style shifter on the instrument panel takes some getting used to, but allows a nice storage area in the console. The overall control layout is good. Mileage has been good at about 19 average in mixed city and rural highway. I was getting 16.5-17 in my 2001 Acura MDX. I had also looked at the 2011 Acura MDX, but was not happy with the comparative lack of roominess and visibility. (If Acura had made the second row adjustable like the Honda, it would have helped a lot. I didn?t actually test drive one.) Likes: Mileage, excellent ride, quiet, outward visibility, roominess, lots of storage areas, good engine power, stereo system, rear-view camera, Bluetooth phone system, general ease of use, rear window shades, sharp turning radius, uses regular gas, bright head lights. Minuses (not really dislikes): Cargo area is sloped, could use even better mileage, smallish sunroof, could use better brakes.

LOVE

Love the style, comfort and ride. Good gas mileage is a plus. The roominess is fantastic. Love the back up camera, making reverse driving much simplier. The only little negative is the sound system could be a little better.

Car is just okay

Traded a 2010 highlander in for 2012 pilot touring. Car is okay. Power is not as good as highlander. Back seat is a little tight. Road noise is bad. Nothing special so far.
