An oldie, but a goody!
The stepdown engineering suffered from incredible rust out in the rocker panels and the frame channel. I guess that they did the best rust prevention that they could do for 1949. The powerless center point steering gave great road feel and response, without having to break your arms to make a turn. The cork clutch and Hudsonite, gave beautiful soft shifts. The duo safe brakes removed any fear that I may have had from stopping a car with single circuit, juice brakes. If the hydraulic system failed, the e-brake system automatically took over. That was brilliant engineering for 1949. The interior was big enough to host a party. I just wish that I owned it from new.
