If the bet-on-anything apps Polymarket and Kalshi existed a few years ago, it would have seemed like smart money to hedge against Ineos ever bringing its Grenadier SUV or Quartermaster pickup truck to market. The vehicles are more or less mass-produced first-generation Land Rover Defender restomods — with all the attendant legal and regulatory struggles for a third-party manufacturer that has been taken to court by Land Rover in an attempt to block their production.
But 2026 marks the vehicles’ third year on sale in the U.S., and if that doesn’t scream “established,” then surely getting in on the hottest trend in the SUV market does. Like other brands’ Black Editions and Night Editions (but no Black Knight Editions), the Ineos Black Edition features black wheels (18 inches) and exterior trim; the grille and skid plates, in this case. It also gets tinted windows and an all-black interior with black carpet, a black headliner and black leather seats.

Unlike other automakers’ similar packages, though, the Grenadier Black Edition fully commits to the bit and is only available with black paint — no black accents on white or denim-blue trucks here. Ineos is offering the package on both the Grenadier SUV and Quartermaster pickup. Based on the on-road biased Fieldmaster trim level, the Black Edition adds $3,995 to the cost of either vehicle.
Refinements Across the Line
Ineos is not changing its prices for 2026, which means the SUV (which Ineos calls a station wagon as it’s the British term for the body style) starts at $72,995 and the pickup at $86,395. The Black Editions start at $84,990 and $90,390, respectively (prices include $1,995 destination charge).
Still, the startup automaker made some freebie improvements to its products this year. The vehicles’ steering now incorporates a variable ratio that is quicker on-center for improved response on-road while remaining slow at the extremes to preserve off-road precision. A slightly tightened turning circle aids low-speed maneuverability. Ineos also improved its climate control hardware to better manage cabin temperatures.
