Takes A Licking, And Keeps On Ticking

It is 2018, and I have owned my Jeep since 2002. The Jeep has 209000 miles on it now and I have never been into the engine or transmission. I change the oil regularly but I have never changed the transmission fluid. For the last 10 years I have mostly just used the Jeep for off road purposes. While things have broken in the Jeep, it has been due to extreme abuse. It is a fairly simple vehicle, it has power windows and locks, but everything else is manual. To this day the A/C is colder than any other vehicle I have ever ridden in, and the heater will melt your face. If the new Jeep Cherokee is as rugged as the old Jeeps then they will be a great vehicle. Back when the Jeep was my daily driver I drove it to Colorado from Missouri a few times and gone up in the 4x4 trails around Ouray and Crystal. If I could go back and do it all over again I would still buy it.

Almost bulletproof.

Had it 14 years and was never left stranded. Fiat needs to look at how a Jeep is supposed to be built and start over. If these were available new I would have a new one without reservations.

Best vehicle ever

I have that my jeep almost 20 years and still going. The best feature is driving through snow and has never been stuck and couldn't get out. 4L keeps the power to wheels and has incredible torque and power

Best wheels I've ever owned...

I've owned 3 of these covering 25 years (First one I gave to my mom and had another family member give me theirs, as they bought a brand new one, second one was totaled - hit while parked on the street, third one I gave to a co-worker that needed a car, as it was rusting out badly, and being in sales, I needed to get something else). It's a shame they don't make these any longer, as I would love to keep driving these forever. Absolutely love the rigid ride, and the look. Great vehicle. Best ever!!!!

Fun suv to own!

The older Jeep Cherokee models give a sporty feel without the expense of owning a Jeep Wranglers or similar. Also has a little more room for cargo.

A beast of a 4.0 Litre I could drive anywhere

As the last year of the 4.0 litre V6 I loved my Jeep. I have driven it in the mountains of Arkansas, New Mexico, Colorado, and more. I loved the way it felt, sounded, and ran. The only reason I got rid of this Jeep is it had become more of a toy for me and I was not financially capable of having one at the time! Saddest day for both me and my wife was when we had to sell!!

Awesome utility vehicle

I've owner 2 xj' now, great little vehicles. Easy to work on, cheap parts, cheap insurance. The Cherokee will get you where you need to go no matter the conditions. 2wd alone is not very effective but the moment you engage 4wd it unleashes a beast. Ideal SUV for the weekend outdoorsmen, packs up very nicely. Just an all America little SUV.

Awesome!! Just kept going!!

Awesome Jeep! Loved this Jeep! I had the 5 speed! It was my extra vehicle. Had great power and great gas mileage for being a Jeep!! I average 24-32 miles per gallon. I wish I never sold my Jeep, but I could have 2 cars at the time when gas prices went up. I had to use my Honda. But this model and make was the best of its Series in my opinion. When I sold it, it had 176k miles and had great pickup and was in top shape! A great 4-wheel drive off the road vehicle too! 5 Stars!!!
