Best car yet

I have had my fair share of cars and I have to say that the jeep commander is by far the best. It drives very smooth and is fun to drive.

Not bad

Other than the deplorable fuel mileage, this is a VERY well built vehicle, with more than enough capability.

The good, the bad and the ugly!

Honestly, I didn't purchase a commander. I wanted one, i researched for weeks - reading, going to car-lots, test driving. I was after a limited AWD with Hemi and every one that I seen (no matter the price or mileage) had something wrong with it. Either the door handle was broken, (which is the least of the problems) or the A/C didn't work, which turns out NOT to be a freon charge needed. There is a much bigger problem mechanically so make sure it's fixed and working if you decide to get one. I did not, there's alot of other vehicles in the price range with just as many options, more established production numbers and a production span of more than 4 or 5 years. Which is the worse part about it because vehicle specific parts are available but expensive and hard to find. I would recommend many other vehicles, I personally went with a Durango AWD Hemi Limited which has everything that the Commander offered in a more reliable package. If you like the Commander then get it, everything is fixable and once they're up to par they can be an enjoyable ride, but if you're looking for an investment that will hold value for years to come I don't believe this is it. I could be wrong, however! The fact that they were only made a few years means that they're rare but also obsolete. The fact that every one that I looked at had something wrong means that they fall apart quite frequently but once repaired, should be a reliable vehicle. It is a Jeep, right? Then again, every American car maker has their good, bad and ugly!

We are a Jeep family. We love this Commander.

I wish they had not stopped making them. We also have a Grand Cherokee. Can be high maintenance, but we love Jeep.

I'll drive it until the wheels fall off

I've always owned cars because I hated how trucks and most larger SUVs handle like boats. My wife and I recently had our second baby, so I decided to upgrade to the Commander and it is, hands down, the best vehicle I've ever owned. It handles very well, almost car like. It's extremely agile on the road and the suspension is fantastic. I live in Northeast Indiana, and the Commander absolutely controls every icy, snowy, or wet road I've ever driven on. I'm hopeful that Jeep will come back out with the Commander some time soon, so that I can purchase another when mine can no longer drive. The only con to this Commander is the MPG rating, but you still only need to fill up every 6-7 days with regular commuter driving. If you're looking for a safe, reliable, and reasonably priced family vehicle that fits in the garage, look no further. The Commander is where it's at.

Jeep commander

A lot of suv for the money. Great ride and handling. We needed a good suv with a third seat and have always been a fan of jeeps. Very solid.

One powerful engine

Great SUV. Strong engine. Manages well. Roomy. The only downside is the price of gas. With the Hemi engine she is quite the drinker. :-)

True to it's roots

7 passenger seating without the bulk of a super large SUV. Highly capable even if you opt for awd. 3.7 engine is a mighty giant with swift acceleration and turn on a dime steering. Love the extra row yet still fits in garage. If you ever buy a used car try these 2 golden rules; by a car (even if used from a namesake dealer) they want to sell that car, 2 : wait till the end of month.., you make a deal and you will win . I saved $ 6500 dollars.
