My 2020 Kia Sorento engine failed at 151K miles due to
My 2020 Kia Sorento engine failed at 151K miles due to the Lambda II head bolt defect documented by NHTSA (investigation PE23-019). Kia extended warranties for 2016-2017 Sorentos to 180K miles for this exact defect but excluded my 2020 despite Kia’s own data showing the problem continues. I’m over 60, owe $10K on the car, and Kia has denied all assistance. Case #25750800. Warning other Sorento owners.

6cyl has good power and acceleration.
6cyl has good power and acceleration. Sun roof motor failed on me even though I barely used it. Costly to replace. Oil pressure switch failed on me. About a $30 part but $1400 to replace because it’s difficult and time consuming to replace. Third seat not really usable but I only needed the space for hauling. Overall a decent vehicle.

This car is not comparable electronics wise to the other
This car is not comparable electronics wise to the other 2020 SUV brands. The vehicle’s seating is crowded. The third row is pointless as there is virtually no legroom, even for most children. It is not reliable. Almost immediately after purchasing the car, the rear passenger window stopped rolling up and of course the warranty would not cover fixing it. It cost over $1,000 to replace the seal and fix a small part to allow for the window to work properly. Two years after purchasing, a valve went pad and the engine wouldn’t start unless I slammed on the gas. That cost $300 to fix, and again, the warranty would not approve payment. The final straw with this vehicle is that 3 days after replacing the valve, my check engine light came on again and I was having the same issues with it starting. The only difference is that it also started to act like it wasn’t getting gas when I was driving or stopped at red lights. I was constantly having to rev the engine to make sure the car stayed on. I took it back to the dealership thinking the new valve must’ve been bad. The informed me that all 6 fuel injectors are bad and need to be replaced for $4000. Once again, the warranty is refusing to pay for the fuel injectors to be replaced. Why have a warranty that won’t pay for anything. All 6 fuel injectors going bad after only 2 years of the vehicles life is not normal maintenance. But Kia and their Warranty company claim it is. After reading these reviews, I’m not understanding how this vehicle has such a high rating. This SUV is not reliable and is a money pit. Stay away from Kia and their vehicles.

Should have stayed with Toyota
Currently own a 2020 Kia Sorento. Drivers seat cover has already been replaced once after the side bolsters were worn out and now at 45,000, the replacement is worn out. Service department at KIA of Turnersville in New Jersey is typical, always trying to up sell and advise of repairs that are not necessary (i.e always saying rotors need resurfacing with brakes, despite enough pad being there, etc.). At 45,000 miles I now debate if this vehicle is going to last as noises are appearing in different areas and the materials inside appear inferior. Should have stayed with Toyota

I am constantly suprised by this vehicle.
Professional Driver says ---amazing engine performance in the SX. V-6 able to tow 5000 lbs. Eight extra gears on the handle shifter. Super bonus for driving the mountains and beach. Fun, fast and responsive handling. Roomy enough to haul furniture and heavy items. Comfortable for everyone on long haul family trips. Dealer maintenance cost is the lowest that I have ever had on any vehicle. Not a jaw dropping looking SUV but the interior ammenties will make you forget about that.

Kia Sorento EX V6 AWD has been awesome, owned 3yrs
Absolutely love our Kia Sorento EX V6 AWD 2020. We've owned it for 3 years and it has 46K on it. Regular oil changes and just did brakes, and that's it! With all the bells and whistles I got with my trim, panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, Lane assist, blind spot monitoring, auto lift trunk gate..i would have paid 5-8K more to get into a Toyota Hylander or Honda Pilot. With best in class warranty, I'll take my chances. Plus the suv drives so smooth, like a car, tons of pick up. Really shocked to see the latest reveiws aren't great on the sorento, but honestly I think it's their 4 cylinder engine that's the issue, their 6 cylinders have been excellent, stick with the better trims

Love Kia Sorento
I have had to replace the battery twice since New one I don't know why but the warranty and extended gold warranty have got me covered until 130k miles so I feel good. Recalls easily handled for Free at the dealership so no big deal very happy. Hope to still be happy ten years from now when my kid is driving to high school in it.

GREAT... With a few small glitches.
Except for a couple pesky electronics recall issues due primarily to lack of parts or a fix plan we love our V6 AWD Sorento. We've had it as a lease for nearly 4 years and plan to keep it when the lease term is up. Best in class towing capacity for an SUV no longer available in any model.

Kia is crap
Come on Kia...this recall almost 6 months old and no fix? This is criminal. Can't park in my garage because you are sitting on your butts. Get on it. FIX THE PROBLEM, IT CAN'T BE THAT HARD!

I love my Sorento
I bought my 2020 Sorento in 2021, and took a serious road trip. I love my car!!! It looks good, drives good, and gets great gas mileage. It's very roomy compared to some other suvs that I looked at during the hunt for a good vehicle. I keep the 3rd row down, and 2 of my lg fur babys can fit with room to spare. I have heard nothing but bad reviews on lots of sites, but I've not had any problems in the time I've owned it. The dealership keeps trying to buy it back from me.
