I purchased my 2021 kia sorento used with 29,000 mi.

I purchased my 2021 kia sorento used with 29,000 mi. on the odometer. I was not familiar with two systems, the automatic stop and start when you stop and the lane control. with the automatic stop and start has caused several scary moments when the vehicle automatically stops and then I try to move the vehicle and the car does not start and move as normally expected. I could not move my vehicle as normally expected to begin again and had several close calls with oncoming vehicles from my left side. I was very lucky to not have an accident. I am a very careful and experienced driver having driven since the age of 12 and never had a moving accident or a moving speeding citation. I have driven many different cars and trucks and commercial vehicles in my 81 years. I believe this system as designed will cause safety problems and overuse of this system. for someone not familiar with this type automatic system shutoff and startup it seems very dangerous and i wish this system could be disabled in my car. I have just replaced my starting component under warrantee from overuse but this does not help me with the safety of this system. In regards to the lane control system, safety is a large concern because control of the steering system is very difficult to control especially when the lane control pulls left and right and this is not easy to control. Without this system my car operates smoothly. This is a system which could aid a tired driver but it must be activated manually. Operating a vehicle with an A.I. type of system, in my experienced opinion is not safe. I wish these types of systems could be removed from my car. Had I ever driven a car with these systems, I don't think I would have purchased this car. I don't have the money to keep replacing the stop and start systems from the constant wear and use. Also I am very nervous about the safety of this system. I don't want to have an accident and cause someone to become injured, maimed, or worst case Killed because I did not remember to manually de-activate this system that your company designed and built into this car. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to discuss this on this forum.

Terrible car

The car is VERY under powered and has a garbage transmission to begin with. driving this car you will often have the transmission hold gears, have to use 50 - 60% throttle to accelerate at a decent click. the car is very road noisy with a sound that sound like a terrible exhaust leak, but kia assures us this is how the car is supposed to sound. we have taken the car to kia MULTIPULE TIMES as we can not believe this is how one of there new cars rides and sounds.

LOVE OUR 2021 KIA SORENTO SX

THIS IS OUR 4th SORENTO. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE OUR 2021 SORENTO SX. WE HAVE ALWAYS PURCHASED THE SIX CYLINDER FOR THE 2011,2015,2017. ALL THREE ENDED UP WITH 92,000 MILES. OBVIOUSLY WE DRIVE A LOT OF MILES PER YEAR. WHEN THE 2021 SX NEW DESIGN CAME OUT WE HAD TO BUY IT. WE WERE JUST A BIT APPREHENSIVE DUE TO KIA NOT MAKING THE SIX CYLINDER. ONCE WE DROVE THE 2.5 TURBO IT ACTUALLY OUT PERFORMED THE 6. PRESENTLY WE HAVE 46,600 MILES AND STILL LOVE IT. WHEN NEEDED THE ACCELERATION WHEN GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY IS OUTSTANDING. YOU WOULD NEVER FEEL THAT YOU'RE DRIVING A FOUR CYLINDER. BE VERY SURE TO BUY THE LARGER ENGINE WITH THE TURBO. IT HONESTLY MAKES THE DIFFERENCE. THE SX IS WELL APPOINTED WE EXTRAS. GREAT,GREAT VEHICLE FOR THE MONEY.

I would recommend this car

I have the Sorento for 2 years now. On long distance drives out of state the seats are very uncomfortable. The trim on the sides windows has to be replace because the finish comes off. The item has been on order for 2 months. Other than the issues I would recommend this car. My daughter still has her 2013 Sorento the engine was replaced this year under warranty.

Existing problem in Kia Sorento with no known fix

The vehicle is first class save for one exception. A warning light to refill the inverter coolant is permanently displayed. Took it back to dealer and although nearly 12 months old there is no known fix for what they call a software problem and claim it remains safe to drive. according to Service Manager it occurs in every KIa Sorento Hybrid that they have sold even the latest models. This means that knowing there is a problem without a solution they continue to sell this vehicle. With their history of class action lawsuits regarding engines and the history of fires in electric vehicles it is making the drivers nervous. It doesn’t help when trying to get answers. Contacted customer care on at least 5 occasions. Was given a case number which I quoted later and which they claim s not recognized. Called a man called Marcel on an Arizona number left a message every day for a week he has yet to respond. No wonder they have a 1 star customer service rating.

Looks nice, but is garbage

Dont know how this is possible, check reviews on edmunds, much the opposite of here. Kias are garbage research kia lawsuits and problems ... i have had 2 sorentos, first 2018 with 60k needed new engine, second 2021 with 15000 miles needs new transmission. Oh and they dont know when will be fixed ( its been 3 weeks), have no loaners and do not fully compensate for rentals, kia corporate said that was not part of the warranty. So guess their big 10 year warranty doesnt help. Stay away they been having these problems for years, so havent fixed or learned from mistakes

Love this car!

Everything is really awesome. So many extras. Handles so well and is very comfortable. So many safety features! Only thing missing is the driver memory seats, wish they would bring that back. So happy with our purchase.

Reliability and Functionality

I love Kia vehicles! My first was a Spectra. Upgraded to a Sorento and now I am on my 3rd one. The new Sorento exceeds my expectations! Lots of leg room in the back even for the tall guys! 6” plus, and they have no complaints! Sleek, stylish, and all the extras and reasonably priced! Great bang for your buck!
