2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar consumer reviews

I've owned my p250 R dynamic HSE for about a year and 5 months. Let me tell you, I have a love-hate relationship with this car. It's spent more time in the dealer than it has with me. Persistant problems with brake pads (replaced 3 times front and back), multiple recalls (some serious like the fuel line), hood latch issues, constant problems with interior screens either glitching/flashing, patches of darkness, or total shut down of the screens that wont turn on until it self resolves a couple hours later. Which is unfortunate in the summer or winter when you cant control your interior temp. Also had issues with door handles wobbly/freezing, lane keep assist/cameras not working for no reason, auto stop/start battery dying twice, engine check light twice due to glitch in computer code, defogging and aircondition issues, etc. Nothing too major but little problems every week are annoying. It's been into the dealer, not exaggerating, atleast 15-20 times. Service manager knows me. Though, people have rolled down their window at a stop light to give compliments. Stunning car inside and out, and a nice smooth comfortable drive when everything is working. Good for off-road or winter driving as well. Just has it problems, I wouldn't recommend owning it unless you are aware that its like taking a child to a doctor frequently and you have the time to keep up the maintanence. I bought the extended warranty because I couldn't afford the problems without it. Range rovers are known for being problematic, but the Velar especially seems even more worse. I don't hate it, but I would not buy another RR.

so many issues: all the screen shut down, bluetooth going off, signal sound getting off, mine is full-option, I just wasted 90,000 dollars. dont ever buy this xxxx.

Gorgeous car, hands down. Have gotten a lot of compliments just being stopped at a light. But overall, I am very unhappy with it, considering the price I spent on it. LOTS of dashboard malfunction including delay on back-up camera start, or just going totally black for a few minutes after starting. There is no predicting when it’s going to come on. Also, second time bringing it in to “cycle the battery “ as the Auto Stop function stopped working again after a very cold spell. Our old Jeep’s has never failed with its Auto Stop all these years. Driving on ECO setting feels like driving a cheap sedan. Not a fun ride at all. Also cannot seem to get comfortable with any setting of the diver’s seat. By the time, I feel comfy and reach the foot pedals, I would have to duck my head to go in and out. I had a Lexus prior and the seat retracts once the vehicle placed in park, making getting in and out easier. Then the front cabin space is not friendly for purses - as in no room at all even for the smallish clutch I routinely use. And with the center console smaller than a kid’s lunchbox, it is a joke. I cannot wait to return it after the lease.

This car met all my city tours and off-road needs. It's a wonderful SUV and very fast too. The fuel economy on this ride is unbelievable.

Bought the first 2018 sold at our dealership. Had the vehicle back to the dealership 10-12 times the first year for numerous electronic issues that never really got fixed. They even replaced the whole computer module with no luck. At 25k miles we traded it to a 2019 because we figured it was just the whole new model year thing. Haven't had the new one for a week and it's all starting over again. Stay away from the Velar!... And maybe Range Rover all together. Oh and don't expect Land Rover Corporate to do a thing to make things right with you, fortunately there's good people at our dealership.

I have owned this car for six months and in the shop 4 times. Not a reliable vehicle! Comfortable ride, nice interior. Controls are nice when working, screens are very glitchy.

Brought a used 2018 Velar S 5000 miles on it. there were a couple of issues I had with squeaks and rattles, got rid of them by raising and lowering the windows, not sure what was causing them though. also got rid of some by reclining the back seats all the way back that stop some as well. I did have the screen go dark a couple of times, but once I restarted it, they came back up. keep having an issue with the connectivity when using bluetooth and the Pandora app on my phone, usually if I connect it comes back up. there is an issue with a low vibration that I have coming from the door area, when I hit a bump at low speeds, not sure what's causing that, but will have it looked at later. so far the car has been ok, Just would like not to have the squeaks and rattles and vibrations. at this point I'm not sure, if i will be a repeat buyer, PS I also had issues with LEXUS and BMW

This is the worst example of a luxury vehicle I have ever experienced. I now fear for my life as all of the screens go black randomly as I am driving. You have to pull over and restart the car and wait for everything to start back up. Takes forever to be able to manually input destination as for some reason this car does not understand basic voice commands. Nothing about the Infotainment system is intuitive. More steps than any vehicle I have ever owned to just make a simple phone call. Absolutely ridiculous. Could not take delivery after signing for the car because the voice recognition system wasn't working. Bright lights flash on their own while cars are in front of me as well as oncoming. Climate controls, wipers and radio work intermittently. Buy another vehicle as this one, although looks great can give you high blood pressure because you are waiting for it to drive you into a wall.

I bought the 2018 Range Rover Velar R Dynamic 6 months ago and it has been to the Dealership at least 5 times. - Electronics don?t work, software issues constantly. - Door Handle fell off, exterior mouldings loose, falling off. - The Dirt builds up in the Door Jams instantly resulting in us getting dirt on our clothes every time we get in and out. Range Rover Canada and our dealer have concluded it?s because we live on a gravel road !!! Absolutely the worst financial decision I?ve ever made. Look at Range Rover Canada?s website, funny how they don?t allow owners to leave reviews.

One month into ownership. Zero issues. Dealer to upgrade software shortly for Android Auto. Aristocrat Motors great to deal with. Purchased for a winter vehicle.
