Quality and inexpensive.
Purchased a 1990 in 2010 with 150.000 miles, 12 years later it has 225.000 miles and no major engine work done as the engine still gets good gas mileage and burns little oil. Very reliable and inexpensive to maintain it would be foolish to sell. Could not ask more out of it, very practical.

Oldie But Goody
Lee Iacocca: "If you can find a better car, then buy it!" & "Lead follow or get out of the way." The SE was the "sporty" trim level, with added features such as a tachometer, side-mounted truck mirrors, a rear step bumper, an AM/FM stereo, sporty white/black wheels, white-lettered Bridgestone SF Radial tires (long since been discontinued) and a prominent stripe graphic kit, the latter being the most easily distinguishable feature. In 1988, engine was replaced with Mazda's more powerful, 2.6-liter, four-cylinder, fuel-injected engine. The new model was named B2600i--"i" for injection. The 1990 model year saw the first major refresh in the B-Series: the front bumper and grille, which had been painted a dark metallic gray with light silver headlight bezels from 1986-1989, were changed to black with light silver headlight bezels. 1990 also brought the upgrade of a new and more modern alloy style wheel for the upper trim levels. For the North American markets, Mazda spent more than US$100 million to design and develop the 1986-1993 B-Series trucks to meet consumer demands. Old Japanese trucks for sale are very hard to find. Those that own rarely sell. Reports of engine lasting 250K to 300k are typical. Trucks in this small size were long ago made bigger with lower MPG.

MAZDA B2600i
2600 was largest 4 cylinder offered by Mazda in truck. Achieved as good or better MPG than smaller engine versions. Cab+ was Madza name for more often called extended cab. Rear seats fold up flat against back of cab, making for generous load area behind front seats. Front suspension is torsion bar type, instead of struts. That means has 4 shock absorbers that are less costly to replace. Cab is tall with much headroom. Few owners will part with Mazda B Series trucks. Hard to find used.
