Runs and Drives Amazing

Coming to the end of my 3 year lease on a CX5. The car performs great. No mechanical problems. Lot of fun to drive and has some good juice for a 4 cylinder engine. Awesome winter vehicle (AWD version). I took a couple stars off on comfort and interior design and here is why: I'm larger than average but my wife is not. We both thought the seats were uncomfortable on anything over a 100 mile trip. The road/wind noise at highway speeds its pretty significant but that apparently was a common complaint as the new 2017's have added sound dampening in it. The infotainment system is atrocius. It has a definite problem with some phones and it appears mazda has no updates for this model year. All car manufacturers need to move to android auto and apple car play. Leave these systems to the experts. Finally the mazda leasing is not competitive for what you get and that ultimately has led me to try something else next. All that being equal i would still recommend this car.

Great car, performed horribly in a crash

I was rear ended while driving this vehicle. The seats came apart, the headrest became a projectile. It did not hold up well in a crash. The car was brand new.

Really liking it

Test drive several vehicles in this class (crossover/compact SUV) and this one just "felt right". I love the sporty look and I got more features for the dollar. I still have kids in the house and they are getting older, so the comfort and space of the back seats was a consideration and I felt the CX5 was better than some of the others. I am one of this people that tend to over-research before I buy...the CX5 scored well in that book and then won me over in the real-world field test of what I "liked" as well.

Excellent vehicle!

This is our first SUV, after driving Mopar minivans for 31 years. It is almost impossible to derail on ice or snow; it manages traction and braking effortlessly. The ride is very smooth and quiet. The power is not breathtaking, but more than enough for hills or interstate driving. I very much like the body styling, and the seats are the best of the 19 different SUVs in this class that we tried. Only three issues bother me with this vehicle- 1. The paint is somewhat soft; the door handle pockets have many scratches, and fingernails are the only source. 2. If you shut off the ignition switch (button) with the car in drive, you had better restart the vehicle. If you just move the transmission selector to park without restarting, the ignition stays on and discharges the battery. 3. 19 inch tires are not a good option, as they are very expensive, and there are not many styles available. All told, those three complaints are far outweighed by the CX-5's virtues. After 28,000 miles and two years, I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Great Vehicle

Awesome car for the money. The engine for this car is very powerful in all conditions. Very smooth on the highway and xxxxxxthrough the snow in the winter time. Very reliable for a daily commuter and I am very satisfied with my CX-5. Thank you Mazda!!

We like the style. It has had no mechanical issues. Easy to drive. Love how sporty it drives and handles for a CUV

JohnHine is a great dealership to do business with

I am completely satisfied with my purchase. Having to get rid of my VW TDI I went to John Hine, San Diego and explained exactly what I wanted. A couple weeks later I received a phone call and a vehicle happened to come in that fit my needs and I purchased it! Everything went very smooth and they did exactly what they said! I am very pleased with my decision buying from Hine!!!
