Superb SUV! The Grand Touring is a Luxury SUV!

After owning six Lexus vehicles and and one BMW since 1994, I surprised myself when I bought a 2016 CX-5 Grand Touring. But, I must say, it's an incredible vehicle ... and unbelievable for the price. After 68,000 miles it has needed nothing but routine maintenance, and needless to say, that maintenance cost way less than on the Lexus's and the BMW. Ironically, the ride quality is like a marriage of Lexus and BMW ... the smoothness of a Lexus and the zippy fun driving quality of BMW. It may not be quite as luxurious as those vehicles, however the Grand Touring is way beyond expectations for the price. Well appointed and meticulously trimmed. I have the AWD and the mileage is a little less than advertised. I drive about 70% city, 30% highway, and have averaged 24.7MPG over the life of the SUV and the MPG is as consistent now as when new. I live in a hilly area of Silicon Valley and I'm sure that contributes to the MPG as my previous vehicles also had lower than advertised MPG. As a side note, my son bought, a 2019 CX-5 three months ago, and it is super nice too, probably a little sharper on exterior front end and dashboard styling depending on your taste. However, both my wife and I agree after driving my son's new CX-5 that we think the 2016 drives just a bit better ... their both great though.

Great value

I was looking to upgrade to an SUV so I could have more space for my 3 dogs to travel with me. I went with the CX-5 because it gave me the sporty feel I was going for while also giving me features I would’ve paid thousands more for in other brands. Mazda has a great reputation and so far in my experience it’s living up to it.

Reliable, very roomy and fun to drive

This is a great vehicle and very reliable. The Mazda CX-5 is rated number one for safety in its class of SUV’s. Looks and drives great and one of the few vehicles in its class that does not have a CVT (continuous variable transmission).

Perfect for me

I LOVE this car! Big enough for all of my equipment (I’m a photographer), but compact enough to make it easy to drive around and park. It doesn’t feel like a boat. I do have the grand touring trim line and wouldn’t have it any other way - it’s worth the extra money.

Love my CX5

This is my second Mazda, love this SUV! As a commuting trauma nurse, I look at safety features first and Mazda Grand Touring CXV is my choice! The all wheel drive and heated lumbar seats are my 2 non-negotiable features, drives great in our winter weather! I traded my 2014 Grand touring with 96k for a 2016 with 17k, has 100k mile warranty. No big repair bills, just a great reliable vehicle! I like everything about it; you will not regret buying a Mazda CXV.

Bought the Mazda CX5

The car is great! Many techy features I had to figure out. Hands free calls, navigation. Even keyless start. I have to remember to put the Fob in my purse as to not get locked out. Still working on figuring out the lock button on the outside of the door and had to figure out the after-market remote start. Handles well. GREAT on gas, especially for a midsize SUV!!! Not as tight as my small KIA, so I am still negotiating curves. Very spacious and seats are comfortable!! Back-up camera is nice to have!

What A Fun Little SUV!

Let me just say that this was the funnest vehicle I've ever driven. It handled well and had enough pep to keep you legal and safe. The gas mileage was awesome! Unfortunately, my family outgrew it. I never had any mechanical issues with mine.

Stylish and Great Handling

Own the 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring. Love the way it looks, very comfortable and handles very well! Has a lot of great features including dual zone climate which is great for a passenger who wants to control their own comfort. Gas mileage is a bit low in real world about 21mpg average.
