I am convinced whoever is behind designing the Mazda CX-5
I am convinced whoever is behind designing the Mazda CX-5 has never actually been inside or driven a car before (I tell this to everyone who asks me if I like my car—the answer is always no). I had the SUV on a 3-year lease from the dealership and at first, I was excited. Upon first glance, the car itself looks nice and modern, is a decent size, and wasn't breaking the bank too much. Then, after a few weeks of driving it, I started to hate it for a few reasons. The cupholder placement just underneath the opening for the middle console is horrible. If you drive with your elbow on the console, it's so uncomfortable to have a cup in the cupholder, completely defeating the purpose. Especially if it's a taller water bottle. The volume/main knobs are placed in the same area, making it extremely frustrating to use them (and not to mention that passengers get easily confused when trying to figure out how to lower the volume). The mileage also isn't great. I'm not a numbers/gallons/range counter, but I was needing to fill up about 3 times within a 2-week period (my commute to work is about 25 minutes both ways). The money I was spending on gas is ridiculous. It seems the tank itself isn't that big. It's also not as spacious as you think—especially the back seat and trunk. If you have even two bags in the backseat, it seems so cluttered and your car seems so filled up. The trunk is pretty shallow, too, making it hard to put a lot of big items in there at once. And good luck seeing out of the back window when you do. From the outside, the Mazda CX-5 looks clean, modern, and pretty great. Once you step inside, though, not all is as it seems. These issues I had were dealbreakers for me, personally, and thankfully I was able to get out of my lease early and get a Kia Sportage. Good luck to anyone who gets this car.

I own 2023 CX -5 less than 1 year, the key fob's battery
I own 2023 CX -5 less than 1 year, the key fob's battery needs to replace the battery every 3 months and it's not cover by warranty, small interior room, poor trimming, will not recommend it.

Very pleased!
I am delighted with my 2023 CX-5 Signature in the hard-to-find Eternal Blue. I've had it about one year now and it's more than adequate for my driving needs. No, I don't need a rattle-prone pano sunroof. The six-speed non-CVT transmission is just fine. Never need or use(less) the paddle shifters. Performance with regular fuel is just fine. As an "early senior", I don't need huge cargo or passenger space. Only complaints are the Apple CarPlay isn't wireless; and miss the power tilt/telescope steering wheel and power memory exit seat that I had on my unbeloved '20 Lexus NX (which I was glad to get rid of!). All told, I'm a Mazda believer and buh-bye Lexus!

Do not buy this car if it’s a 2022.
Worse car I ever purchased. I don’t know if it’s because it’s a pandemic assembled vehicle that I purchased new in 2022 but my engine light has been on twice. Both times under 10000 miles. The vehicle has no oomph and often I need to put the petal to the metal for a better acceleration.

Mazda ROCKS!
We looked at Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, and Mazda and selected the Mazda CX-5. Honda and Toyota have priced themselves out of the middle-class budget, and Nissan’s Achilles Heel is their very brittle CVT transmission. Mazda is by far the best-looking, has AWD as standard equipment (a $1,200 to $1,500 option on other brands), easy-to-read gauges and dash, nice sound system, soft-touch dash and doors usually found only on “premium” brands, the best price, and the most beautiful factory color on the road: Soul Red. Our family has owned vehicles from all 5 companies, and have been totally happy with our problem-free CX-3. Anyone looking to buy a compact crossover should consider the CX-5.

Fun Ride!
I bought my 2023 CX-5 Premium Plus back in March and haven’t regretted my choice since. I love this car! Took awhile to acclimate to the infotainment selection dial, but now that I have, it’s easy to use. The interior design and component selection are impeccable. The handling and acceleration (for a 4 cylinder) are also very impressive. Only con is the limited cargo space.

Great vehicle, horrible entertainment screen
Very comfortable, drives great, awful entertainment system. Instead of touch screen there is a dial you turn to select radio, Waze, basically everything for screen. It's difficult. Dial doesn't move smoothly and you wind up looking down and giving so much attention, you can get in an accident. If your not a person to use different apps in car then it's great otherwise get a vehicle with touch screen.

Love My CX5
The CX5 is a great vehicle for a great price!! I find this SUV to be very comfortable to drive and it handles great on the highway as well as the back roads! The simplicity of the interior design is a welcome change for me. I found all the touch screen technology of my other vehicle was very distracting while driving and it was just more to go wrong!

First Mazda Vehicle
The 2023 CX5 is fun to drive, has adequate power and a great 6 speed transmission, does not "hunt" for gears on slight inclines. Driven Toyota Camrys for years but will probably not go back as long ad the CX5 proves to be reliable. Newer Camrys are not as reliable as the older Camrys.
