Is ok if you testdrive other vehicles first.

Looks nice, handles well, engine is peppy, feels more like a large station wagon than a crossover. The interior is cheap clothe which tears easily and if you have pets, good luck trying to get the fur out. the front seats are unusually low in comparison to the window, if you are used to leaning your arm on the edge of the door forget it. The arm rests have a leather pad which is comfortable enough. Overall, I would have preferred the 2010 Ford Escape or Edge as the prices were comparable by the time the extras were added to make the car drivable.

Best Car I've Owned

This is so far has been the most fun and valuable I have owned so far. This has been my first Mazda and I am more then happy with my purchase and I hope to try out more of their models in the future. The car's seats are comfortable and roomy enough for any adult. The rear seat though is a little tight though, but I don't have to sit back there so it doesn't affect me! The trunk space is also very large for such a small SUV, I can fit my 90 pound lab in the back. The performance is also very good for a small SUV. I love to take on corners going very fast because of the high cornering limit. Mazda sure has done a well job designing this car, my entire family just loves how it looks and we even take my car more instead of my wife's minivan. The only problem with the entire car is that there weren't as much options or features as other car brands like Subaru or Volkswagen. Overall, this car is the best car I have ever come across and will probably buy another sometime in the future.

Amazing

We bought our 2010 Mazda CX-7 Grand Touring in November of 2009. The best day of our life. The BMS( Blind Spot Monitering)*Sorry for spelling* Navigation, Bose 9 Speaker Sound Sysem is the most AMAZING thing I've ever heard. This car out performs my wifes Mercedes E350 4MATIC. This car is ridiculous! The build quality is great, the huge 19" wheels and the chrome accents along with high gloss paint makes this car look more like a $50,000 car. Most people don't even know about this car or haven't seen it. My kids love me to drive them to school in my car due to its curb appeal. Whats sad, is that they don't want to even ride in my wife's Mercedes. Being a Cardiatric Surgeon, everyone in my field has all these crazy expensive cars and I have my crazy cheap, but sexy SUV. Im proud to be an owner of Zoom-Zoom quality.

Best Unknown Crossover

I have 900 miles on my new Mazda Cx-7 sport i and I have reached the conclusion that it has to be the best crossover in its price range for people who enjoy driving. It has decent power, amazing handling(esp. for a crossover, it handles like a car through corners!) and all kinds of features standard like bluetooth phone connectivity, aux input well thought out and well executed in cabin placement, leather trims where people come into contact with the car(door panels, steering wheel, shift knob, etc.) and exterior styling that will always make you look back at the parking lot when you leave it. I am addicted to driving this car and to me it is simply the best. Storage wise it has more than enough to suit most people's needs, it has comfortable seats, great interior design overall with a lockable center console that is simply huge and configurable with various trays. Simply put, mazda thought about all the little details and pulled off a great car. And best of all, most people dont know about it, so your guaranteed not to find many around and its always a great conversation starter when you arrive somewhere. i cant repeat enough how much fun and how easy this car is to drive. After driving this car most of its competition seems lacking to me, the quality is just superior to most in its class. The only negatives I could possibly point out would be 1. some competitors offer slightly better mpg's, but the cx-7 is definitely not a gas gussler, it has great mileage compared to previous suvs ive owned. 2. some might find the ride a little rough because of how sporty it is. I love it, but this is very subjective, some people prefer driving on a cloud in which case this is not the car for you. and 3. power wise the base four is adequate and lots of fun, but i dont recommend for people who need a lot of power for say towing a boat or something, but if thats the case opt for the turbo engine, still i have the base and i love it, more than enough for average people. Overall the best way to sum up the Mazda CX-7 is that in spirit it is the affordable version of a BMW X6: enough usability for most, controversial love or hate styling, and an amazing driving experience. Best car ive ever owned for the price (i have a bmw, but this mazda simply charms me in inexplicable ways where the bmw is left looking more and more as a machine and the mazda is the car i want to drive every time.) If your researching a crossover or small to midsize suvs be sure to give this mazda a test drive at a local dealer, you wont be disappointed! p.s. best looking colors are silver and black, i got mine in silver cause you dont have to clean it as much

Great car for the money

I was wanting a SUV, but reluctantly bought a crossover. That being said, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It is plenty sporty enough for what i need, and has great fuel economy. We drive mostly in town, with a few long trips thrown in, and we normally average around 24-25 mpg. There isn't a ton of cargo room in the back, but the seats fold down to give more than enough room. Overall, we are very pleased with the purchase.

Wow !!!

My CX7 is great. After reviewing and driving several crossovers, I bought the Mazda CX7 sport. The ride is solid, smooth and quiet. My last vehicle was a crv and it proved to be very reliable with no trouble at all, BUT the ride can't compare to the cx7- well done MAZDA.

Excellent crossover

The Mazda CX-7 is a excellent value for the money. The Grand Touring model I purchased has proven a great city driver with it's turbocharged engine. I was worried about how it would handle highway speeds. On a trip up I 81 north, and south I quickly found it has no problem at all and in fact enjoys running the open roads, and handles superbly. The seats could use a bit more cushion, but are overall sufficent. The Bose Stero is nice, and the interior layout I find excellent. I would by another in an instant.

Great car!

After much research in the small and medium sized crossover group, I decided to get the CX-7. I have a 2010 AWD Touring model with the technology package. It is just so much more fun to drive than anything else out there in this price range. It is my first Mazda, and I have been really pleased with the service and build quality. Gas milage could be better, and the turbo recommends premium fuel, which is always a bummer. But by watching my driving habits (no jack-rabbit starts!) I've been getting 19+ around the city. I just love this car!

WOW!!! What a surprise

My wife and I went car hunting towards the end of 2009. Because I have a company car, the most use of this vehicle would come from my wife. I am a auto enthusiest and we found ourselves not agreeing on what we were looking for. I was thinking safety and performance while she was thinking looks and gas mileage. I was thinking Audi/BMW and she was thinking Honda/Nissan. After looking at many reviews and doing extensive research on Auto manufacturers websites, we stumbled on the CX7. We pretty much test drove everything and we were amazed once we drove the Mazda. The power and feel was in a different class comparable to the Infinity or others vehicles $20,000 more. We purchased the 2010 Touring model with the Technology package. My wife loves the car and I don't have to be embarassed to drive it. It handles like its on rails and its fun to play with the excelleration. Of course the average gas mileage goes down when I have it...but it was a great compromise. Up here in CT we don't see too many of these, so its kind of a unique vehicle up here and will leave "the fast and furious" types scratching their heads when playing stop light to stop light. Its a family CUV on steroids. Bottom line... great performance and great build quality all in one. Interior quality is amazing minus the cheesy woodgrain in the pricier vehicles. The leather and stitching is amaizingly supple and durable. With the sport suspension and limited utility versus some others, the CX7 may not be for every one... but if you are a driving enthuisiest, you will be impressed and pleased with the entire package. Cheers!

Fantastic Car, exceeded my expectations

Recently purchased an Mazda CX-7 Grand touring after researching similar cars in it's class. I have always had 6 cylinder cars so was apprehensive about getting a 4 cylinder turbo, just felt it would not meet my needs for having a spirited car. My first test drive proved me very wrong. We loaded the car with my family of four and it was great surprise to see the performance, very nice low and high end acceleration. This car has a fantastic feel to it, very responsive engine and handling, and great feedback from the road. Felt more like a sports car, than an small suv. I keep getting this feeling that I really want to step on it to see what this car can do. It really feels like I was driving a car twice the price. What sealed my decision was the value for the price. The grand touring is loaded with functional features usually found on more expensive cars that we never could afford on previous cars- side impact air bags, leather interior, incredible stereo, blind spot warning, sun roof, 19 inch wheels. The blind spot avoidance system is great, it just gives you that extra safety factor with highway driving. All totaled after a few weeks of owning it I am happier and happier with my decision.
