It’s a good car. Just the dealership did me dirty by not replacing a bad tire that they promised in writing that they would. Now I have to pay for one. The front underneath must be extremely low because it drags when I pull in or out of a driveway curb.

I used to own a full minivan that I didn't really want to give up until I tried and purchased this Mazda 5. It is very comfortable for up to 6 people although I've been driving it mostly alone the past four years. It is much larger inside than we think, it can carry large/long items (e.g. 6 ft ladder, road bike, table with chairs), yet it maneuvers and parks like a car. It has completely met my needs and had no technical issues.

Honestly, its not the fastest, coolest or biggest car out there, but its easy and cheap to fix, and very reliable. I got mine at 70k, and am currently up to 145k. Ive replaced: Tires, Brakes, Front suspension components, rear shocks, TCM, and transmission fluid. That pretty awesome if you ask me!

AFTER TRYING THE NISSAN AND THE DODGE MINIVAN I GUESS MAZDA IS THE WINNER BECAUSE THE UNIQUE STYLE MAKES THE MAZDA 5 DESIRABLE AND BUDGET FRIENDLY FAMILY is the Low Gas, not expensive and very comfortable.

I have had this car for almost 2 years, and it had been wonderful until the last 8 months. It was totally reliable and I could depend on her all the way up until now. My mazda 5 has had the motor fall out twice. Yeah, you read that right: TWICE! Even after having all the mounts replaced. There is one mount that is under a control box at the right, just as you pop the hood, that is made out of aluminum and it has a steel bolt in it to keep the motor in place. One you have it go out once you can plan on having it done every couple of months. My motor has fell out twice while driving in the road and let me tell you it is one of the most insane things I have experienced yet. And I owned a 94 honda screaming metal death trap, with absolutely no interior to it! It also is so bad about needing an alignment all the time. My car only has 135,000 miles! With only 1 owner prior to me! Such a wild experience I have had with her but in all honesty I still love her! But I just have to move on.

Bought this car for my daily commute of 150miles round trip. Was very dependable, and also for our weekend needs when the whole family needed to go. Eventually, I gave it to my son to drive for his first car. Last week he totaled it. Hit 2 large trees and by the looks of the vehicle he and the passenger shouldn't have walked away... but they did. Some bruises and stitches but all things considered it protected them. So much so that he is asking for another for a replacement car.

these things were designed with family and out of sight storage in mind. it is very comfortable and the seating position is more upright like an SUV which is just the way i like it. all kinds of hidden cubby holes. It has never let us down, the only flaw i believe is the bodies tend to rust prematurely unless you keep them undercoated.

I have had this car 6 years. I replaced the transmission. The headlights were so hard to change out that the brackets broke and now the passenger side does not work at all. The low profile tires go flat every time you barely hit a bump. However, I really do enjoy the roominess and overall comfort.

The good: Nimble and quick car partly because it's so light weight. It's a minivan technically but drives like a small car. I much prefer this older, sleeker styling before they totally feminized it. Have gone several years now with no real issues other than a brake job. The Bad: You feel every pebble on the road. Noisy cabin. The lower profile tires look nice but in pot-hole ridden NYC where I commuted for 8 years, this car was a chore to drive at times. The interior feature lights have one by one all gone out and they're not easy to replace. The engine being strong for the weight of the car means I'm often spinning the tires on rain and in snow. The cockpit is really for a smaller person. I'm 6'2" and the keys often rest on my knee.
