Solid as a Rock C240 4 door

We have had this car for 2.5 years and nothing at all has gone wrong with it. We have driven it for over 42,000 miles. It now has over 110,000 miles on it and the way it drives and runs I would speculate that it has at least that many more miles in her. It is powerful and rides and handles great.

stay away...

Well, i have always loved the looks of the mercedes c class. i told my parents thats the car i wanted. The bought me a 2003 mercedes c230 kompressor sport hatchback. The front of the car looks great! but the back was sort of...ugly. after having it for about 5 minutes, i noticed that the gas gage was on empty, even though i watched the dealership fill it up. so i turned aroudn and showed them the problem, and when i turned it off, it reset itself. so time went by and that kept happening, the problem was there for 3 months, then i was reaching the deadline for using the warranty to take it back. i took it back and got a 2003 mercedes c240 4matic. this one is NICE!!! it is fully loaded with heated seats, navigation etc. after 3 days, the gas gage was on empty and i had 3/4 of a tank of gas in the car. so i took it to the dealer and they are keeping it for a while and i have a rental right now. STAY AWAY! oh! also on this one the oil sensor is messed up and the rear sunshade is messed up and the trunk is messed up.

Very fun Benz to own

Great little Mercedes Benz. Sportiness can be enjoyed by all ages. LOVE the dual sunroofs for great visibility and air flow at night! Very nice to have a back seat, just in case you need the extra room, which is a plus over the 2-seater convertibles. Coupes are hard to find but worth it. Excellent gas mileage. Get an extended warranty for any Benz to keep it in top shape! You won't regret it. There's a reason people love the German engineering!

After 80k miles or so, these things fall apart

I bought it new in 2008. It has been in the shop over 20 times. In the last year I have replaced the crank sensor, cam sensors, both oxygen sensors, the mass air sensor, fuel pump, wiring harness, and now I have bent valves. I will have spent more than the car is worth in the last year alone. The car has had many Technical Service Bulletins but very few recalls and none to fix the major problems (Like the cam sensors leaking oil into the wiring harness for instance). STAY AWAY.

Understated Performance

This vehicle will surprise you on how well it performs on the highway. Took a trip from ATL to CHI 1,400 mi round trip to break-in the vehicle. We loaded up the the rear with luggage plus (3) 200+ lbs adults and a another kid. My expectation was that the car would be dragging; unable to accelerate but amazing enough the performance between 60 to 80 mph was phenomenal. I was easily able to pass trucks climb hills through the Tenn Mtns, as well as set the cruise at 75+ and maintain complete control. Not to bad on fuel; I average about 24 mpg on hwy (again fully loaded). Also the interior is larger then what meets the eye. I am 6'1" and I can completely stretch my left leg and still have room in the rear seat behind me. Seats are firmer than I would prefer. I recommend the C320 over C240 I tested both. I Do not recommend 4-matic with C240 (too slow & heavy).

C240 4matic wagon

I have owned my C240 4matic wagaon for 3.5 years. I have had no trouble with it at all and it has been a very reliable car. It handles excellent in the snow and I feel very safe. However, the resale it not good. I was just offered 9500.00 on a trade. I think I will keep it!
