fun, but stable

I knew this would be a fun car the day I picked it up from the dealer. What I did not know was how 'firm' it would feel on the freeway at 70mph+, this is truely a little - big car, small and quick, but also a refined cruiser ... buy one and you won't get the smile off your face, on the road or at the petrol pump!

You don't just buy a MINI - you Join a Movement!

I own a 2006 Mini Cooper with a CVT. I also own a 1967 original Mini. The new MINI is a modern car that is fun to drive and gets great gas mileage, but don't buy it because it is small. If all you need is a small economy car, buy a Nissan Versa or Honda Fit. But if these cars bore you, as they will - and a car is more than just transportation to you - then buy a Lifestyle - buy a MINI. Nothing at the price point handles as good as a MINI. The build quality is excellent, truly BMW quality, as it is the smallest BMW you can buy in the US. It compares well to the original Mini, designed in 1959, with modern updates - large interior for being only 12 feet long - handling like a go-kart and straight line stability all the way up to where the speedo won't go any higher! Once you drive one - if you can't see the reason for wanting one - don't buy it. You must make the connection, join the club, enter the MINI lifestyle. It's not just a car! It's a MINI!

most fun for the money

great car, lot's of features, fun to drive. driving this car makes you smile-always. it's a great handling car specially in corners. excellent brakes- stops on a dime. tons of features: headlight washer is so cool. 6 airbags, runflat tires, tire inflation monitors, heated washer fluid/side mirrors, dual speedometer(digital at tachometer/analog at center speedo, self adjusting headlights, great sound system, computerize maintenance reminder, it's a personal car that one can personalize with tons of options and accessories. overall, it is fun to drive, good on gas, and very reliable. I would definitely recommend this car.

Absolutely and pure fun

I stepped down from a Z4 to a MINI Cooper S and honestly I like it even more then the Z4. Of course you cannot compare this two vehicles but the MINI just makes sense with a lot a fun.

too many electrical issues

unlike Japanese carmakes, my has had constant electrial problems. Air Bag light warning and car worked on several times and 3 years to fix. Might it be the problems of a new model car ? Mine is an 02. Very expensive to repair at the dealership after the waranty is off. A Mini owner need not be of the same spending bracket as that of a BMW owner.

So much fun... it should be illegal

It's a cliche, but also true: the Mini handles like a go-kart. Make no mistake this is a driver's car. One can take corners quickly, and the suspension keeps the car absolutely flat. Pretty amazing stuff for a relatively affordable car with a modest size engine and tires. I would certainly recommend against buying this car if: * you don't like a harsh suspension (due mostly to the run-flat tires) * you want an automatic transmission (this robs the car of most of its fun) * you need to transport more than two adult passengers (the back seat only has enough space for small children) This car has turned my daily commute into a pleasure, and has not yet failed to leave me with a grin after each drive. Spring for the Cooper S if you can afford it... the extra power is worth it.

2006 Mini Cooper S Convertable

Driving this car is sooo much fun! It handles like a dream. Ok, so it doesn't have all the bells and whistles available as in luxury cars, but if you want to have fun, what you get in return is worth it.
