Fun car to drive

by Tomk58 from Palm Springs on Wed Oct 04 2017

This car is a little car that feels like a big car. Plenty of room in side, with lots of power under the hood. The 2014 design is really a great look. It holds more than you would think. I make a trip to Costco once a month and fill it with no problem. As we all know, going to Costco results in many items no planned on purchasing. The Cooper S is sporty and drives like a sports car. VERY VERY sensitive steering. I was constantly over steering in the beginning but now I love the response. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the car to anyone that wants a fun sports car.

It is more BMW, less MINI

by redstone from Hartford CT on Sat Jun 14 2014

Just bought two weeks ago. Really love it. Feel solid and nimble when I make sharp turn. It is a good above average commuter car, not sport car. From size, it is bigger than previous generation, lost a little cute, but still Mini, no doubt. A lot of new techs inside. I am a little annoyed by the engine shut down function at signals, although save gas a bit. Overall, this is my dreamed car.

most fun driving a (relatively) cheap car

by RUA on Tue Jun 12 2018

The car is great. It has to be clear that this is not a multi-purpose vehicle. It is strictly a car for driving fun. It drives like a go-kart. It is fast, it breaks well and it handles better. However, it is compact, the trunk is extremely small and it is best for 1-2 people. If you are looking to have fun driving without buying a Porsche, this is it.

love the performance and fuel milage of the car.

by mike from LA GRANGE on Fri Jul 13 2018

So far so good. Only owned it a few weeks but it has exceeded our expectations. Can't beat the fuel mileage and the ease of driving.

Our Take on the 2014 MINI Hardtop

There may not be a more iconic car on the road than the Mini Cooper, which returned to the U.S. for the 2002 model year. Its complete redesign for 2014 may not look strikingly different at first glance, but it is a big change for the small car. Namely, the Cooper Hardtop, as the original model is now called, isn't nearly as small as it once was.

Luckily, the 2014 Mini Cooper Hardtop not only retains the fun-to-drive allure of previous generations, but it also outdoes them in terms of roominess, ride comfort, steering feel and acceleration.

Mileage is improved almost across the board, there's more cargo room — and the price has barely changed.
