2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse consumer reviews

I purchased a 2006 Eclipse GT-V6 with the Sport Package. This car performs and sounds great! The exhaust note and engine purr is the best--that is when it starts. Problems started to occur 4 days after I purchased it. From then on it was in the shop once a week for about 3 months. Mitusbishi's customer service from the dealer and the manufacturer is HORRIBLE. They could not find the problem and ultimately I wound up selling the car. Mistubishis are OVER PRICED Kia's.

Great new desgin by mitsu... i owned the 2006 GT 6 speed. after 2 months of owning it i was in and out of the shop 10 times... it was one thing after another, first the rotors, then the pads, then the radio controls on the steering wheel, then the whole deck. all around i liked the car, although it has A LOT of road noise on the highway, its stereo "when working properly" could over-power it. ***please beware, mitsubishi doesnt quite hold its value as some of it competitors***

I LOVE driving this car (the GT version): it's really fast, it feels very solid, and despite what I've read, I experience very little body roll. Engine sounds impressive (and is), but it's loud all the time. Definitely some understeer flying around the turns, too, probably because of the weight. The base stereo still has great speakers, but it desperately needs an mp3 input given the target market. Lots of textured plastic inside still just feels like plastic; maybe it's different with leather interior. The front seats are great even for a roadtrip to Vegas, but pray you're not the third (or fourth) person stuck in back, unless you're eight years old because it is SMALL. Two biggest complaints: the mp3 input thing, and no telescoping steering wheel-SERIOUSLY irritating, and not that hard a thing to add, you would think. Oh, and if you drive this thing with any enthusiasm, don't expect that gas mileage to come anywhere near what the sticker says.

This is a great car, but not for me. I've always driven small quick sports cars. This is hands down the fastest car I have ever owned, but I miss the feel of a small car. It is front wheel drive, 60/40 weight distribution, and worst of all 3500 pounds. It doesn't handle badly, but it just doesn?t have that feel that I'm looking for. It is a great car in many ways. If it was at all possible, I'd keep it and get a solstice GXP or something similar. It is an excellent highway car. It is very good at what it does.

This car is exactly what i have always wanted. it has great design, a very powerful engine, even the gs. The interior really makes it look sporty and the body of the car is just jaw dropping. Not to mention a 2007 sports car for only $23,097 and thats with a great rockford sound package, and a very nice moon roof. The car is very safe, it scored 8's across the board in all impacts. The car comes standard with 3 different airbags which makes the insurance company happy. Not to mention my insurance rate is very low for this sports car, around $117 a month with progressive insurance. Being in the car buisness myself before please trust my word that if you are looking for a expensive look for less, with tons of features and a great powerful engine, with nice gas mileage, and a sporty look, the 2007 eclipse is for you. Plus you will defentily enjoy the looks and compliments you recieve, and for those who are worried about it being stolen, it has a car alarm system standard. look and the porsche 911 and compare it to the eclipse almost identical looks. Well this car gets five stars from my, my advice for you know is to go test drive one.
