First off I am a headroom junkie and used to rule out Nissan's cars outright. My son rode in one of these and we rented one next time we took a long trip. This is my secret to buying a new car every 10 years. Took a Camry,Accord, and Fusion for long rental rides. The Altima was the most competent in the most areas. The looks are special enough to find it at WalMart but not so radical as to get unusual looks like my 2005 Scion Xb commuter. When we went to the dealer he only had the base model in silver with a DVD navigation system but the price was right and my wife fell in love with the navigation system and became the principal driver. The ride is competent and smooth for a long haul and the handling compares with the better cars in its class. The tires were Continentals and I now know were the term Not Worth A Continental comes from. Replaced them with Cooper CS4's before 30000 miles (negotiate better tires with your dealer) Interior is spacious but womb like the attention to ergonomics shows in the heater and center storage console/ armrest. I reason I love this car the most is because I sleep like a rock on the passenger side seat , never been able to do that in any other car. Good comfortable Car

I just bought a 2009 Altima coupe and I love it. It handles very well and is quite comfortable. I was concerned about the 4 cylinder, but is quite peppy (174 hp). I am most amazed by the MPG. I drove to work today and achieved 39 MPG. Impressive! There are not too many 2 Door Altimas around so people always take a double take when I drive by.

I didn't have Nissan on my Radar - but when my cute lil Ford Focus was totalled I was given an Altima for a rental and while I was test driving a Hyundai Elantra I realized how much more I like my rental car! So I then and there decided to get an Altima. I bought a beautiful 2009 SL with Leather, Heated Seats, 6 CD Bose Stereo, MoonRoof with 34,000 miles for a price I can afford and even though I now have car payments, I have a great ride and with Nissan's dependablility. I even still has some warranty left on it !! Consumer Reports also rates it very highly. All in all I am very pleased with the Altima - it is a very nice ride and the 2.5 4 cylinder handles the GA hills just fine. This is my first Japanese car and I have to say I'm very pleased.

2009 Nissan Altima 2.5S, bought brand new.

I had a Scion TC before this car, and wanted something that was four doors. I have been watching the Altimas since the 2003ish generation style, and always thought they were so eye catching and pretty. Then when the newest style came out I was sold...I had to have one. It has a really quiet ride and I love the fact that finally I have a six speed automatic and my engine doesn't rev at 4000 rpms while just doing 75 on the highway...the scion did...it was horrible gas mileage and noisy. It is a beautiful car, plenty of power and gas mileage, very comfortable and I cannot really think of one downfall...I love my Altima.

When I purchased my 2009 Nissan Altima SL, I was really really happy. Before this car, I had a Ford Mustang Convertible( which I loved as well).. But I was looking for better gas mileage and more room for things.. I ¿ that I now have 4 doors.. BIG trunk space.. I have a moonroof- which I strongly recommend- especially if you are going from a convertible like I did. Overall the Nissan Altima is super! Great everything! I also love the style of both the interior and exterior. Great handling. I also ¿ the heated seats!! Nissan Altima ROCKS!

Great car, has some "get n go" to it although its not horribly fast off the line it picks up once you gain just a little bit of speed. Really fun to drive, good sounding and feels good. Although if you get the HID Xenon lights, they are amazing but make sure you do not break them. As I have done, being a college student spending allot of money on one headlight without installation is pretty steep. But none the less, I would highly recommend this car.

This is my 1st new Nissan and it won't be my last. I now have 76,000 trouble free miles on this car and so far it has been more reliable that all 3 of my Honda's I've owned prior! I have nothing bad to say about this car. Nothing. I would recommend a new or used Altima to anyone looking for a good safe reliable car.

I got a steal. Found a 2009 Nissan Coupe for 17k. It had 7k miles and was practicaly brand new. I commute a lot to school and work; and the gas mileage is a huge improvement coming from a Wrangler. Also plenty of get up and go when needed. The only drawback is I have gotten two speeding tickets! Learn to use cruise control if you purchase the 6 cylinder!

I recently traded in a 2009 Honda Accord that I was not happy with. I started having brake problems at only 10k miles. The performance in the Accord was not to my liking. I ended up getting a 09 2.5s with 20k miles that is an excellent condition. The powertrain on the Altima is silky smooth with the CVT transmission. The acceleration and handling are better than the Accord. The Altima also has a nice sporty look and overall I am happy with the purchase. The gas mileage also appears to be on par with the Accord. I plan to keep the Altima for a very long time.
