2017 Porsche Macan consumer reviews

I have a 2017 Macan S model with the 340 HP V6 Twin Turbo. Plenty of head, shoulder, leg room for my 6'4" size. Super handling, acceleration, and strong braking. Excellent traction in snow without dedicated snow tires. Throaty exhaust note in sport setting and during every start up. Back seat legroom is minimal. You can open hatch remotely, but must push button in hatch to close. Inserting key in the left side of dash is different, but easy to get used to. Oil changes at $250 are a bit steep. No dip stick to check oil. 1st and 2nd year depreciation is extreme. Very disappointed to find that trade in values are far less than the sales guys tell you even with low mileage. Takes about 3-4 months to order one. Dealer stocks are limited and tend to be the overloaded option versions with very high MSRP's. Even the 4 cylinder models can approach $70K. Overall a truly great car in every way. Porsche Customer Care is outstanding and super supportive. Local dealer staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

There really is no substitute. Do your homework, test drive the various Macan and competitive cars in its class, and you?ll quickly realize that the purchase of a Macan will be one of the best purchasing decisions you?ll make in your lifetime. Thank me later.

This car is the perfect mix of styling, performance and utility. It is not for the family with lots of luggage for multi kids. Performance and handling is extraordinary.

Love the design, quality of interior materials and absolutely love the performance of the Macan. This is my first Porsche, so I don't have long term reliability opinion yet.

Never thought I would buy a Porsche SUV but while waiting for my husbands car to be serviced I wandered into the showroom. Sat in the Macon and immediately loved the driving position and the level of finish in the interior. Took it for a test drive and was hooked. The car is a driving car and it makes me smile to drive it. I love it.

I've been a BMW owner for 14 years. when I drove my first BMW, a 325i, back in 2004, I thought...ooooh this is different! Over the years I went from the 325 to a 528, a 535 and finally an X5. I was ready for a change. When I test drove a Macan GTS, I had that same feeling - oooh, this is different! I made a deal the next day. The direct connection to the power and the road is unlike anything I've driven since that first BMW back in 2004. The fit and finish is impeccable. The technology is adequate but not overwhelming. Really love the traditional analog tach and speedo (as opposed to the total glass cockpit of say an Audi Q7). This is about the car, not the techno wizardry. I'm 6'3"" and a cyclist, so interior space is important. The Macan has at least as much headroom and shoulder room as my old X5. Really. And way more shoulder room than a Range Rover Sport. (I know, hard to believe, but believe it!). And with the rear seats down, my bike fits in the back without even having to remove the front wheel. Driving is fun again. I love my Macan GTS.

Love it, just need something a little bigger! LOVE the speed! LOVE the look! Biggest Moonroof I've ever seen! Very smooth ride! Love the parking brake too!

Great handling/grip of the road. A little short on space (back hatch). The most smoothly shifting automatic gears I've ever experienced. The 2017 model offers Apple car play and blind spot monitoring - two great features the car should have for the price.

The GTS model is aggresive in both appearance and performance. It?s a sports car with a slightly elevated center of gravity. Highly recommend this car

Having owned 3 911s over the past 30 years, when it came time to replace my VW GTI, I wanted to consider a luxury SUV. The Macan shares a lot of structure with the Audi Q5 but I preferred the looks of the Porsche and the engine and suspension are unique to the Macan. I found a dealer loaner for a nice discount off MSRP. I got the base engine which has all the power I need for a sporty driving style and the premium plus safety package which the main reason to abandon the 2009 VW. Luxury features are great. Rear seat legroom is a bit tight but seats are very comfortable and it's rare that I have rear seat passengers. Cargo area with all seats up is not as spacious as the Q5, but, again, there's plenty of room for two passengers' gear on a trip.
