Power on hills and economy during normal driving
I am a second-time owner of a Dodge Ram 1500. I bought one 20 years ago and put 300,000 miles on it with just normal maintenance. I bought one 3 weeks ago with the same 5.7 liter Hemi V8 but now it comes with 8 gears that keep the RPMs under 1500 unless you floor it. That saves about 5 miles per gallon over the old Dodge. Nice styling. Good quality. Convenience. You can check your entire engine and fluids using buttons on the steering wheel. It even tells you how clean your oil is and how soon you should replace it.

The most comfortable and technological truck
The truck is luxery and is priced less then the the similar truck Ford has. I like the comfort and it's features. I can start it using my iPhone from anywhere and can track its speed and location. Very nice truck.

Big Blue 2017 Big Horn Crew Cab 5.7L 8cyl, 4X4
We bought this truck slightly used because the original buyer felt it was too big for him and traded it in after a few months for a new Jeep Wrangler. He took a big loss and I reaped the benefit. The original sticker price was 48,475 and we ended up getting it as a Chrysler Certified vehicle for 33,000. Its a 2017 4X4 Crew Cab with the 5'7" box. This truck has the Bighorn Package with the safety tech and 20" wheels, heated seats/steering wheel option and cold weather package. It also has trailer towing and a dealer installed tonneau cover and heavy duty Westin running boards. We looked at Ford, Toyota and Chevrolet/GMC along with Ram, but were either underwhelmed, or price shocked by all of them. During comparisons, it was obvious to us the Ram was superior to all the others in perceived build quality, and interior refinement for similarly equipped vehicles. The seating comfort was also noticeably better in the Ram, as was the ride, handling and quietness. You can travel on uneven roads at highway speeds yet carry on a normal conversation with people in the back seat. You can hear the radio without turning up the volume to get over the road or wind noise. In fact, the truck rivals some luxury cars in quietness. The 5.7 engine also seems to pull better and feels stronger than the others. Apparently, the Ford 3.5 Ecoboost is faster to highway speed than the Hemi Ram, but it didn't seem that way to me. The 8 speed transmission is silky smooth and shifts seamlessly, at times you can't even tell it is doing so. The Hemi engine is smooth and quiet, but has a noticeable aggressive "Growl" when you step on it and just sounds capable. To me, the Ram has them all beat hands down. I am not going to say the Ford, GM, Toyota are not good trucks, because they are. I'm saying that of all the good trucks out there, the Ram struck me as the hands down - better vehicle and at a better price.

Best truck ever owned, a little pricey
Sweet truck, very powerful, pulls my 24 ft boat easily. Exhaust note is great. Interior is great, entertainment package is good. Alpine stereo and bass under seat is great. I would recommend the the ram box option.

uConnect disappointing
Mechanically, the Ram 1500 is all it needs to be. People purchase vehicles for all kinds of reasons and the "big 3" are doing a pretty good job of competing with each other. The one area I think FCA is lagging is with their uConnect radio units. They don't currently offer iPhone or Android Auto and navigation is a $600 upgrade. I currently have a nice 8" display for an am/fm radio.
