There is really no other vehicle like this on the road. It’s ride quality is great. It’s quiet, fast and off-road capable. The interior design of the cabin is excellent and tasteful. It’s the epitome of form plus functionality.

The best SUV available right now, according to Doug DeMuro. It's like driving a tank and a Ferrari at the same time. Extremely capable and fast, and also green. A super interesting vehicle!

If I could give zero stars I would. I was so excited to receive delivery of my R1S. I was scheduled to pick it up in Portland at the Service Center. Literally 4 hours before my pick-up time, as I was clearing customs in Canada, I received a call stating the vehicle was not ready for delivery due to a fitment issue with the bumper. The catch is the vehicle had been at the service center for 2 weeks. They didn't think to check the vehicle until 4 hours before my delivery?? They promised to make it right, reimburse my flight and provide delivery. After back and forth for several weeks; many of which were emails they ignored, they said they would not do so and oh btw when can we deliver as we can't hold onto the vehicle forever. Seriously, I was the one waiting on them. They communicated as follows: We have a limited amount of time that we can hold onto your vehicle. I would be happy to help arrange a flight through Rivian as a courtesy to pick up your vehicle in Portland so please reach out to me this week! If I do not hear from you I will unfortunately need to unmatch you from this VIN. Thank you for your understanding and I am looking forward to getting you behind the wheel of your Rivian. Once I responded with details I was then told, sorry, we will not arrange a flight to Portland. Get this; the flight was $300. So having a satisfied customer was not worth $300 to them. I asked for a refund of deposit, down payment and charger. Still no word on if they will reimburse for the charger. The other items are a 4-6 week lead-time. 4-6 weeks?!? They wouldn't talk with me until I submitted the funds online instantly and then 4-6 weeks? Buyer beware their customer service is horrible!!!!!

The R1S has exceeded every expectation I had and it was absolutely worth the wait. I’ve owned/driven RangeRover, X5s/X7s, SQ5/SQ7, modelX and MBGLS and none are as enjoyable or functional as the R1S. I honestly don’t know where to start with how pleased I am with the final product. The car looks amazing and the interior is super comfortable for any road-trips. No range anxiety here. Travel to our getaway home for 260miles without a worry. :) The storage throughout is amazing. The ride itself is just FUN. The functionality hits all the marks and the tech is simple and effective. Everything ya need and nothing ya don’t. Going 0-60 in ~3seconds in a 7,000lb car is comical but awesome. Then simply gliding along the highway in “conserve” mode makes road trips a breeze. I’ve yet to encounter a car that offers the full package like this and I’m super excited to see what the future holds for Rivian. Of course I need to have some fair criticisms, and that would be the placement of the doorknob on the interior. Just a weird low spot that is annoying. Then of course the maps they use are not as easy as Apple Car Play. Hopefully that changes in future OTAs, but other than that. NO COMPLAINTS - It’s officially our family hauler and waiting for it was the best decision I could’ve made for a new car .
