I bought a new 1994 Saab 900 in November 1993.
I bought a new 1994 Saab 900 in November 1993.. the first few hundred miles the trim started falling off. It just came unglued. It was all downhill from then on. Every single thing that could go wrong with a car inside outside and under the hood did go wrong with that car. I had always loved the idea of a Saab. It was absolutely the worst product I have ever owned. Even the buttons for the radio adjustment would pop off. And the dealer never could find replacements the right color. And this is when the car was only a few months old. The gas tank sprung a leak. The retractable antenna fell off. The sunroof developed a leak. The headliner fell down. I don’t even remember how many engine parts were replaced. All of these things happened while the car was still under warranty. And they just kept happening after the warranty expired. The quality control apparently just fell between the cracks when that car was being built . I bought it at Matheny in Jacksonville. They also sold jaguars. Their service department was probably the worst I’ve ever been to. They did what they could, but they just couldn’t fix that car. The warranties weren’t very long back then. So then I started pouring money into the car . I had paid cash for it, so I tried to keep it running. I kept it until 2009. At that point it needed an entire new exhaust system. And I was just too sick of it to put another scent into it so I sold it for $1000. The car only had 60,000 miles on it . I am very happy for the people who had good experiences to share about their Saabs. I got it as a gift to myself for my 50th birthday. I will never, ever get over my disappointment with that car. And I will never ever buy another car the first year of its model change. I am so sorry that I kept it for so long, it was a heartbreaking experience that I will never recover from

Great Car
I have a SAAB 900S, 4-door hatch - why don't they make cool hatches anymore? 2nd owner and have had the car 12 years. This is the best combination of performance, handling, gas mileage, and utility I have ever seen. You can haul 800 pounds of rocks and lumber and then take it to the mountains and carve up turns like a true, european touring car. Need a new car, but they just all look alike now...

love the performance
Superb performance in a quality built modest size vehicle. Excellent handling and pep. The chain driven cam engine means no timing belt failure worries with age, and these engines seem to go forever. Mine at 225 thousand, quiet and no oil consumption or dripping. A Scotsmans bargan in a performance car. Very smooth and quiet at 75mph.
