Saab 9000 Swedish Luxury 5-dr Sedan
After owning a Saab 99 & 900T, my 1987 9000 was a step up in luxury but a loss in the handling and sportiness my 99 & 900T's each provided. I kept my 9000T for the 3-yrs that I had financed it, returning to a 900S sedan 5-spd and my dealer's wife's demo '90 900T SPG w/ under 5kmi on the odometer. My dealer called a month or two later to share he was getting 5-6 leftover 1989 900T sedans that Saab had in excess due to '89 being final year for 900T sedans in the US. Saab was putting US SPECS on hundreds of them and shipping them to US dealers to retail at a discount. I wish I would have bought 2 of the '89 900T sdns via trading in the '90 900S & 900T SPG, as I had a '85 & '87 900T SPG already. But I gave my wife the 900S & traded the '90 SPG for the '89 900T sedan clean deal, even up. I sure loved that '89 900T sedan. I put just over 220kmi on it over 14-yrs, & stored it every winter. When Saab announced the 1993 commemorative edition 900T 3-dr I made sure I didn't make the same mistake I did with the '89 900T sedans opportunity. I sure wish GM would have left Saab alone by keeping their ownership stake at 25% max. Needless to say, we still have a few Saabs, but Volvo has taken over where the real Saab was headed as long as you get the R-Design trim pkg on your Volvo. Maybe Volvo should have called it the S-design as it makes Volvos more Saab like in a way.
