Broke the first day
An hour after I left the dealership the check engine light came on. Two weeks after it was fixed it broke again. A couple months later the battery had to be changed. Then the drivers seat developed a lot of play in the seat track. The paint started peeling off the bumper and wasn't fixed correctly so it had to be repainted. A nut came loose on the sway bar, The compass in the mirror stopped working. The automatic tilt on the drivers mirror broke. The Heater stopped working when it was 20 below. The windshield washer tank cracked. The door handles faded. One thing after another. When was it going to stop? I finally got rid of it when the warranty was about to expire. I feel sorry for the person that bought that lemon! The only thing I miss was the 36 mpg I got at 70 mph.

great lease car..just don't buy it
my lease just ended on my linear 9-3 with launch pkg. just in time as all the electronic problems started in seemingly perfect synch with the elapse of the warranty. still, i was bit melancholy turning her in. her name was helga..good swedish name. and she was stylish, held enough luxury car cache, affordable, effortless maintenance program, great gas mileage and the turbo ROCKED..like a wolf in sheep's during high speed acceleration..that was the deal-maker for this car. so lease this baby, enjoy the drive with no worries and trade up for the aero when the problems start!

Good at high speed, and that's about it
I leased my 93 and am looking forward to giving it back- The dash is peeling off, the radio freezes in cold weather and will not let you adjust the volume, or station, the moonroof has trouble closing all the time, door handle color wore off to light grey when they originally were black. Saab service people are almost embarrased of all the little annoying problems this car has. On the positive- the heated seats are great, and you can do 95 and not feel a thing- Overall, I'm glad I don't own the Saab 93

the car
it's a car. What more can I say. It drives like a BMW which is cool but a car is a car it gets you from point A to point B. I have to admit though this car is pretty hot feature wise and it is fully loaded more than a BMW and close to them mercedes and cadillac.

Computer Disaster
I just bought a used 2003 9-3 and let me tell you Ive never seen so much trouble in a vehicle. Thank God its not big problems just a bunch of small stupid problems. Every time something goes wrong the car dings off a miilion bells and lets you know that it has to go to a Saab dealership and a saab dealership only. Everything in the car is controled by a computer and that computer can be only be serviced by saab. Please think twice before purchasing this pampered piece of scrap metal. Saab if you listening you should be ashamed and refund everyone going through problems with there 9-3.

The little saab that could.
There is no car on the street that can acheive the type of performance found in a saab 9-3 linear with all options. The reason I say this is due to the gas mileage you get with this car, it's amazing! This car can and will take a subaru WRX 2.0 turbo while still getting 25+ miles to the galon. I know I have owned both. This car will also out perform an acura RSX Type S.

good sporty transportation
The Saab 9-3 has handling almost as good as a BMW, better safety than any volvo, and a decent size trunk for long distance travel. Best of all, it gets 35 miles to the gallon highway, and between 20-27 urban depending how much of it is stop go traffic. The seats are particularly comfortable. The downside to owning a Saab is the high deprecation, and I think the dash could use better materials on the linear model. The perks is a affordable, sporty car that gets you from A to B in comfort and a little speed.
