So much Better than I thought
I was very reluctant to purchase a large car. However, after attending an auto show, I decided the Saturn Outlook was for me. Being able to compare the Outlook with all the other SUV and minivans was very helpful. We took one test drive and bought it that day. It was comfortable to drive. The performace and handling are outstanding. The interior design was something we really liked over the other makes. The buttons and knobs are conviently located, and arranged in a user friendly fashion. Our Outlook is fairly basic, but since so many of the "options" are standard, I don't feel like we made any compromises. Comfort is excellent. The second and third rows are very roomy, even for an adult (I am 5'9, and there is plenty of room). One big plus, the ease of moving the seats. Even my 5 year old has no problem. Another nice feature... great cup holders and placement. City gas milage for us ranges from 16-18 mpg. Compared to the other 3 row models, this was the best value... hands down!!!

I love my new Outlook!
To keep it short but sweet here is why I love my new Saturn so. The car has a nice beefy SUV look that most are after. What makes it great is that it rides like a $50,000 luxury automobile. It is taylor made for the family who does not want their family car to be a minivan but cannot afford the SUV fuel cost. It truely combines the best of both worlds.

Best surprise in a long time
I was driving my 2003 "other SUV" and noticed a new Saturn Outlook on the road. At first, I wasn't sure what it was, but I got closer and was amazed that it was a Saturn. To make a long story short, the very next day I went to my local Saturn dealer, test drove the Outlook, traded in my old SUV and and got myself an Outlook XR! I have had it now for 3 weeks and don't want to get out of it. My family loves it. The styling, handling, amenities and fuel efficiency are great! If you need space, gas efficiency, luxury features and reliability in an SUV, then test drive a Saturn Outlook. I'm glad I did.

Outlook exceeded my expectations
Just picked up a Saturn Outlook XE All Wheel Drive a few days ago and just love it. The more i am behind the wheel the more it grows on me and makes me realize how great the performance and value is on this car. The handling is just amazing for a car this weight (nearly 5000 lbs) and steers and stops just like something weighing a lot less. Power and fuel economy are a good mix and the all-wheel drive allows us to go off of the asphalt to our camping site without worrying about getting stuck on less than perfect trail roads. The interior is just gorgeous and makes you feel like you are in a much more expensive vehicle. The dash has great visibility and the driver controls are all easy to reach and use. I took a good look under the car as well and can say that this is one well built vehicle with lots of very beefy suspension parts and workmanship that is of very high quality. So far we have driven about 500 miles and every time i get behind the wheel it makes me feel good about the selection i made. We tried several different foreign and domestic models in the same class, but i can attest to the Outlook as the absolute best bang for the buck bar none.....

A VERY NICE SUV, IS IT REALLY A SATURN?
I've owned several cars, including two SUVs, one a Tahoe and one an Exped. I have to say that this vehicle is a bit different than both of those. The cargo space is greater on the Saturn than the Tahoe, the drivetrain and suspension are leagues beyond the Exp. and I can't say enough good things about how quiet and user-friendly the car is. Onstar aside, the controls and functions of the electronics are very intuitive and easy to find. The luxury and plushness are not equalled in any of GM's vehicles. I honestly can't believe it's a Saturn. My family has owned Saturns over the years, all being 16 year old's first cars which quickly went down the drain. I never had a good impression of this brand until now. I've always thought of Saturn as a great budget vehicle. The Outlook is definitley worth a look if you want a nice SUV for the family, but can't afford 50k on a BMW, 45K for a VW, or refuse 75K for a Land Rover!

Terrific Vehicle!!
I've had my Saturn Outlook for about a month and a half and I love it. It's a comfortable, well built vehicle by GM. I've had many GM vehicles in my family for years and I can say that this is, by far, the best GM vehicle I've owned in terms of quality and comfort. It has a very smooth ride, comfortable seats and driving position, and has many great features. I have an XR AWD model. My personal favorites are the remote start and power liftgate. It's nice to be able to start the car on a cold morning from inside my house and be able to get into a nice, warm interior to start my drive to work. And being able to, at the push of a button, open the liftgate to load a bunch of groceries. I also have the DVD player which is great for kids on long trips. Overall, I am very satisfied with my Outlook. I had traded in my Chevy Equinox for it and I am not disappointed. I love the style, both inside and out, love the ride and handling, and it has tons of cargo room. I would easily recommend the Outlook to anyone looking to purchase a new mid-size SUV.

So quite you need to check the tach.
Literally, I was on the Interstate and I checked the tach to make sure the engine hadn't stopped. Our Outlook is that quite. Under 2,000 miles. Have the XR with AWD. Came from a 2002 VUE w/ AWD. The only reason for the downgrade under features is that the VUE had a fold flat front passenger seat with a hardback traytop which is missing from the Outlook. I liked that a lot and miss it. Very impressed with the design attention to interior detail at this price. Subtle things: driver / passenger footwells illuminated with amber spots when the door opens; tiny amber spotlight for the console; hard rubber pad to dampen key ring rattle against the steering coilumn; footrest for the driver is rubber covered, elevated and lets wet footwear drain to the floormat. I love the 6 speed auto which lets you maintain lower speed limits. It gives you the flexibility of a 6 speed standard. Its a big feeling vehicle and its easy to exceed 25 and 35 MPH speedlimits, so I keep the transmission in 2nd or 3rd to help me stay ticket free. Great acelleration, actually fun to drive, very comfortable for me at 6 feet 260 and my wife at 5'8'' 130. Safety features are exceptional. You can turn off traction control if you need to rock your way out of mud or snow. Full air bag coverage. On Star is now a must have for our family. Winter driving in the northeast is much more worry free with On Star. Add to that the built-in cell phone for which you buy minutes, it is a total safety package. I also have the high intensity headlamps. Never had them before. Won't do without them again. Tremendous raodside illumination to pick up deer and moose on our dark rural roads. And of course the buying experience, at least for me, was exceptional. Saturn is probably not the company folks first think of for this great a vehicle, but thgey will. Completely satisfied. For me Saturn is the GM flagship.

Love It !!!
I was concerned whether I could handle such a large vehicle, but my worries quickly went away when I test drove it. The Outlook handles very well, it drives like a luxury car. I purchased a XR and I love everything about it. It is very stylish, The kids have plenty of room, and the 3rd row is very comfortable. My XR is equipped with remote start, power liftgate and parking assistant, all of these features are well worth the additional cost.

Underwelmed
Roomy and comfortable. I'm a big guy and found the ingress/egress easy, leg and head room generous, and cargo volume exceptional. Gas milage is disappointing, getting generally less than 17mpg. I've got 8K on it now. I got overall 16 mpg in my Avalanche driving the same routes and speeds. The new 6 speed transmission and fly-by-wire accelerator are likewise disappointing. The transmission is sluggish, especially in the cold. It seems to need to downshift to accelarate on any slope greater than a flat surface, leaves overdrive at highway speeds on the slightest incline. Acceleration exhibits lag, and occasionally causes the engine to freewheel (like when you miss a shift on a stick). Floormats don't stay in place despite the retaining pin. Driver door was misaligned and windshield wiper cap was missing when I took delivery. A stop sale order was placed on the model prior to delivery in order to modify the engine mount and add bracing to the floorboard. There is currently a recall issued for defective airbag deployment.
