1985 Subaru GL-10 consumer reviews

I had one in college and for a few years after that (in the 90's). The most reliable, forgiving, well-built car I've ever owned. I wish Subaru's cars were built as solidly as this one was, with screws instead of plastic clips, with long-lasting finishes instead of interior surfaces that wear quickly. I bought another Subaru in '07, new, when I could afford one, because of the '85 GL-10, and - although a solid car, mechanically, the '07 Impreza disappointed with obvious cost-savings. I LOVED MY '85 GL-10! (I don't know whether any GL-10s are still on the road. Probably not in good shape any more, if they are. My recommendation is based on experiences 20+ years ago.
