Well, just picked one up today(AUTO), Silver color and love it. I drove a 09' Sedan for about three weeks(rental) and it drove nice. The wife really love the Sport model. THE GOODS: I love everything about it, the exterior look(different than the competition)looks a little bit like a muscle car(IMO. The engine comes with plenty power(170 HP) some SUV like Honda CRV and Toyota Rav(I-4) come with that power and are much heavier. The interior is nice too, decent radio, they called it a 10 speakers(4 at the doors with tweaters counted as 2=8 speakers and two separate tweaters on the front doors=10 speakers) No XM, you have to added it for almost $400 not including installation, no thanks. It comes with an Aux so you can use your Ipod/Mp3 player. Heated seats/front windshield(wipers) outer mirrors. Dimmed rear view mirror with compass and garaged door opener. I done lots of research on the Impreza, I even joined a group forum. Again, I drove the sedan for three weeks before. The car is lots of fun to drive. Even the suspension is a heavy duty(sport model) it drives very nice, especially in tight turns. On the 10' model, the rear brakes are disk as well(drum brakes in 08'-09' models) The wife really loves it too, after all is her ride. My main concern is safety and this vehicle is a top pick. Decent price. CONS: I wish it comes with a little more room in the back(seats). The passenger seat(little uncomfortable) It should come with XM and Bluetooth(blue only available with Nav) I wish it had at least a 5 speed tranny instead of a four. Overall, is my top pick, better than the Honda Civic, Toyo Corolla/Matrix/Vibe. Heck, for the money, you get lots of safety, features and most of all, an All Wheel Drive. I will update more info as I go. Do your research, look @ cars.com for info and prices. Deal with diff dealerships and get a good deal. BUCKLE UP, CHICKS DON?T DIG DEAD GUYS BUCKLE UP!!!!!!!

i recently purchsaed my 4th subaru, a 2010 impreza outback sport, my last vehicles were full size outbacks and a legacy wagon. i was happily surprised with my imprezas comfort and its peppyness . the only thing that i miss is the roominess in the hatch, but it has all the features of my outbacks, 17 inch tires , heated seats , heated mirrors, but the bonus is the 10 speaker radio, the outback only had 6 and you notice the difference.

I ordered my 2010 WRX with the options I wanted since it's tough to find exactly what you're looking for in stock. I used to own an RX8, so I shopped the MazdaSpeed3 first. The WRX accelerates quicker, and it puts the power down better. It's also much more comfortable, and cargo and rear seat space are substantially better. Plus the interior is classier. I've driven about 13K miles and get between 22-24 mpg in mixed driving, and as high as 26 on the hwy. Manual transmission is outstanding for commuting. You can idle in first without lurking or shaking, and the hill hold feature works well. Sometimes hard to get 3rd gear when accelerating hard, but otherwise shifts very smoothly. I think I'll keep the stock shifter. Handling is above average, turn in is razor sharp, but it doesn't have the same stable grip in high speed sweeping curves as my RX8 had, unless it's raining. The WRX is unbelievable in the rain. And when you put the WRX in 2nd gear and punch it, your head will snap back and you feel it in your gut. It's almost scary fast, but I'm getting used to it now. I especially love the smoothness of the boxer engine. I've had no mechanical problems at all, and this car seems very well built. I have a few complaints. The stock radio is poor (will need a serious upgrade), and the dash and A-pillar rattle, especially in the cold, and the cargo cover rattles so badly, I had to take it down and I only use it if I have suitcase/travel bags in the back. And, if you change your own oil when the maintenance plan is over, you have to unbolt and unclip a large cover to get at the filter.

I purchased the premium model which has leather seating, sunroof, satelite radio. This vehicle is impressive. I enjoy the styling and performance. I am an older driver and found the 2011 styling a bit much..so I opted for the 2010. I also was not looking forward to the 2012 model. I love the hatchback. I can fit plenty of items by folding down the rear seats. Inside is pretty plain as one might expect in this class of car. Heater controls work well. I wish there was a ramp option when you use the auto climate control as it blasts hot air when initially activated. Models such as this should come with at least 3 auxiliary power ports...This car has two. My vehicle came with the leather trim seating. The seats are less supportive with sharp side to side movement..softer than I would imagine but I have a 6'2" 200 pound frame. Headroom is excellent for this class. Audio controls are nice. The double din style is great for upgrading. Shifter is acceptable..I have trouble hitting fourth gear for some reason during spirited driving. Steering is excellent, turn in is very precise. Braking is not as progressive as I would like..but decent. I carry 4 passengers without issues. Leather seats are easy to clean. Stuff seems to fly around the interior of this car due to the slippery leather seats and flat footwells for the rear passengers. Acceleration is excellent. I hit the rev limiter quite a bit because the engine spins up super fast. I achieved 26 mpg on the highway, 21 ish with my mostly in town driving. Front window seems to have issues with moisture during start up on a cold mornings. There is ALOT of road noise with this car..but you get to hear the engine and transmission more..which I absolutely love. Not sure I would enjoy as much if I had a long highway commute each day. Limited storage space between front seats and on dashboard...quite common with Subarus of this year. Nice storage spots in lower doors for drinks and stuff...of course it flies around during spirited driving..lol..

Bitter-Sweet

I bought my 2010 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Premium Hatchback last June, and have put nine-thousand miles on it. I've always loved Imprezas, but never owned one, and before purchasing one had heard nothing but great things about the car. Unfortunately, I had not heard about the general dissapointment with the 2009 and later models. I love the overall exterior look of the car, but the front end could be more aggressive, and the tailpipe and grill look and feel cheap. The interir is attractive, but there is a very dissapointing over-use of plastic, and cheap console components (several plastic parts are already vibrating when the volume is at 25). The seats are very comortable, and the visibility is excellent in the hatchback, but the cabin styling is very boring and cheap. Performance is average, with 170 hp and 170 ft-lbs on a four speed automatic, there are some RPM ranges wherethe car is very zippy, but usually there is saddening throttle lagand sluggish proggression through the gears. Braking and Handling, however, is superb! Often I drive down the canyons of N.E. Utah, and am shocked to find I'm going fifty, navigating the corners and bends like I was going twenty-five. The turning radius is also quite impressive, and the symmetrical AWD is impeccable (and has savd my life once or twice). All in all, if Subaru had only spent more time and money on the interior quality, and putting a six-speed on the non-turbo models and kicking up the ponies a bit, this car would've been the best in its class and a competitor in higher price ranges. A solid 7 out of 10.

This is my first new car purchase, and I've been waiting, patiently, to purchase a WRX ever since I laid eyes on the '05 "rexs." This car is simply, fantastic. I love the interior compared to others in this same class. The seats definetely keep your butt lodged in the seat when you are giving it full throttle, but are not uncomfortable for long drives. The 2.5 liter turbo motor has PLENTY of power for everyday driving, but I haven't yet raced it up with anyone. The stereo and speakers in this car are good. I have read plenty of reviews, and have heard other owners say that the stock radio and speakers are just utter garbage. I totally disagree. The system isn't GREAT, but it's a quality system, no doubt. There is one complaint that I have this car. One, is the stock armrest. I feel it should come forward, and higher by about 3-4 inches. No worries, however, as that is one of the options that I chose to not get with the car. I regret that, but it is something I can get later on. This car is absolutely fantastic, and I suggest anyone that is looking for this type of car (4 cylinder turbocharged cars) test drive this car. As soon as you feel the boost kick in, you'll want to take it home!

I think that it is one of the better car values out there. I owned 2 consecutive Hyundais and although they were pretty good, the Outback Sport feels more solid. What I like the best about it is that in the wet weather there is no wheel spin. The car just accelerates normally like it would on dry pavement. It handles very well and has an amazing turn radius. The standard stereo is pretty good the 2010 has a 6 disc changer with radio controls on the steering wheel. It comes standard with 17 inch Alloy wheels and run flat tires. Can't wait for the winter to turn on the standard heated seats. The only negative comment I have is the storage in the hatch. With the seats folded there is plenty of room, but with the seats up it is a little small. Overall I think it's a great car and well worth the money.

Great Little Car

My 2010 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Premium hatch is a great car. I had a 2003 Civic which I loved and was a solid car but I wanted AWD and I didn't want a big car so the Impreza was the most logical choice. Most things about this car are great. For its price it has a nice peppy engine. Styling outside is nice.. especially the back half in hatch form. With that, I do like the body improvements of the 2011 WRX. Interior features are great but the styling is just okay. I do like the sunroof, heated seats, and steering wheel radio controls. That being said, the speakers from the radio are awful. When I said something to the dealership about it they said it's just a stock radio and I could upgrade with aftermarket stuff if I wanted to... The other thing is that the inside panels of the doors are a solid, lame piece of plastic. Disappointing but I keep telling myself this car would be more expensive and heaver with more elaborate panels. Lastly, I have noticed a lot of squeaking from different parts of the car. Mostly, the dashboard and radio screen. It's not all the time and it's only at certain temperatures... Overall, I think this is an awesome car (even with my whiney gripes) and for it's value it's a no brainer (especially for a young teacher). My biggest complaint about this car is now I have one less reason not to go to work when it's snowing out. I can't say I can't drive in the snow! Oh well :)
