So far So good

I have always wanted an Outback because I read, consistently, in Consumer Report, how highly rated the Subaru is. I wanted and AWD and the cargo space of an SUV and I had driven the Outback and I liked that it rode like a sedan without the boxy look of an SUV. I finally got one! I do love it - the look, the features and the solid feel. I have found that it's a bit difficult for me to get in, as I have arthritic knees and it's a bit high. Also, I haven't been able to program my community gate to open it with the mirror button, but I'll keep trying. My biggest disappointment is the heater. I live in the Chicago area and I leased the car in November and thought the climate control was adequate; however, as we got into December, it is no longer adequate for really cold temps. I always kept my previous car heater on 68 and was very evenly comfortable. I turn the Outback heat up to 75 and I'm still cold. Whether I keep the mode on the lower vents, or on both upper and lower, and the fan on high, it never gets toasty and there are always cold spots - particularly at mid-range, across the dash. And the steering wheel is like a piece of ice! Even with gloves on, it is painful to touch, which is a real problem with my arthritic hands. And there is no way to direct the vents to heat it up because they don't blow warm enough. I don't know if this is just a problem with my particular car, or a flaw within the Outback, but it may not be a good choice for a cold climate. I will be taking it back to the dealership to address this issue. Once Spring comes, I know I will love it!

I was hoping to at least crack a smile

I searched high and low trying to find a 6 cylinder model. Not only that, the highest level of option packaging including the brown leather interior, if you know what I'm saying. 2 out of my 3 cars have a heated steering wheel and I was expecting that for my new car as well. The size of vehicle is perfect. The look is perfect. Even the features are modern and useful. But the driving experience was uninspiring. I felt the tires bounce over bumps. And even with the premium payed for the 6 cylinder, it didn't feel any quicker than a 4 cylinder. They offered me a good lease deal and I still walked out without one. Which I'm still scratching my head over, but I think it's because I was just not impressed with the driving experience. The lane keep assist was phenomenol. The navi/head unit worked faster than than our 2012 VW Passat. Great colors, check! Comfy seat, check! Wonderfully warm wheel in my hands, check! But I choose to keep looking for a car that rewards with a fun driving experience, too. If you never drive briskfulky or look forward to curves, wait for long stretches of road that beckon to "see what it will do," then put this car on you're comparo list.

Solid, safe, and powerful, with comfort to spare

Fantastic vehicle with plenty of safety features, and all the power you need (3.6R Limited with EyeSight). Plenty of room for my gear at work, and my gear when I head out to the desert to play. Great for getting to remote trailheads in the mountains or in the off-road landscape. Can't recommend it enough, great buy!

Best most comfortable car that I have ever owned.

After completing my first long road trip in the Outback I was really impressed by the comfort and handling of the car on the highway. It is extremely quiet and powerful.

AWESOME CAR

This vehicle has exceeded my expectations. I previously owned a GMC Terrain. LOVE my new Subaru. Just had snow and car handled perfectly.

Best Vehicle I've Ever Owned

So far (I've had the vehicle for 4 weeks), the car has met or exceeded all of my expectations. I love practically everything about the Outback . . . the styling, color, design, features, and comfort. In fact, I've found the vehicle to be extremely comfortable . . . even for an 800-mile trip that I just took at Thanksgiving. The driving, safety, and media technologies are impressive, and they add real pleasure to driving the vehicle. I haven't yet had the chance to attach my bike or ski equipment, but fully expect the Outback to meet every expectation. The one thing that I'm not in love with is the hauling space. I'm accustomed to somewhat more cubic footage in a Honda CR-V, but I knew this in advance and it was a compromise I made with myself to get everything else that I wanted . . . which the Outback delivers in spades. In summary, I highly recommend the Subaru 2018 Outback Touring Edition!

Java in the Touring Edition

My wife and I drove the 2018 Outback Touring Edition. We love everything about the car, except the Java leather interior. The Touring edition only comes in this color brown leather interior. Otherwise this car was everything we were looking for--sleek, comfortable, roomy and loaded with features. We decided on another edition of Outback, with grey leather interior.

Love the Outback!!!

This car is great! A large SUV that dioen't seem large when driving it. Great safety feature. Very comfortable and stylish!! Great value---especially whencompared to "luxury models".
