Bad Transmission

I have owned 4 Camry's. This 2013 has been a NIGHTMARE. The transmission has gone cur plunked, second to third shifting is SHOT. A sideswipe occurred in 2015, when the car started to vibrate at 40 mph. The torque converter going bad never crossed my mind. I chalked it up to a bent rim. Two years of torque converter shuddering has now caused my second and third gears to lag when shifting. Manual shifting prevents the gears from slipping but it does not stop the torque converter from shuddering. I have 140,000 miles on the car now. So of course there is no warranty now. I am so upset that Toyota has not issued a recall on the torque converter for the 2013 Camry's.

great reliable transportation

All the money goes into safety ,drive performance, and dependability. Not as flashy as some in its class but its one you can count on day after day to do what its supposed to.

Owned for 1 month - so far so good

I purchased the 2013 Camry used - it had previously been a leased vehicle and only had 44,000 miles. The 4 cylinder engine is stronger than I expected. The transmission upshifts quickly under light throttle to save fuel so it feels like it's lugging. However, if you give it a bit more throttle it accelerates quickly. Mileage is in the low 30s in primarily freeway driving. I am enjoying this car so far.
