I have owned 37 cars....This is my favorite
I have owned 37 cars in my 45 years. My 2010 prius V has become my alltime favorite overall car! I always try to buy a hatchback since I have dogs / kids/ and a jet ski. I have never considered a prius due to lack of towing. I decided to buy and see if it would tow a jet ski. (i know...not reccomended) it pulls it fine! granted I dont pull it very far...but it works great! These cars are a bit overpriced in my opinion (buy used). The car handles very well, comfy and efficient!! We actually like it well enough that we bought another. Here are the cons. In the loaded V that I have, the Nav I would not spring for. It often wont recognize an address! The nav features are locked out when the vehicle is in motion (come on Toyota.. I paid for it, let me use it!!) The ipod interface is nice..but waaay to slow. (your ipod interface works better) Blue tooth works great with my iphone4! no issues..period. The caller often cant hear you very well. The technology package is worth it if you take long trips! This one is a KEEPER!

LOVE this car!
In August 2010 bought a used 2010 Prius with 19000 miles on it. I LOVE this car! I drive 45% city 55% Highway, and I'm averaging 60 mpg. So it a HUGE savings in gas over my 1993 Previa van in which I got 21.5 mpg. It's also pleasure to drive now that I've gotten used to the split rear window, and the smaller side view mirrors. I've been used to a large rear window and larger side-view mirrors with my van. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants a sporty look, but with 4 seats and a large capacity trunk. The hatchback is convenient, and I can fit a lot in it. I really don't miss the space I had in my van. And whenever I need it I have even more space if I folded 1 or both rear seats down.

Most visibility challenged car ever owned
Yes the car gets 48+ mph, yes, it is quiet, and yes, I was able to get it at a fair price, and yes I feel like I'm doing something for my planet, but visibility, thus safety, is extremely poor. The trunk bar obscures car lights of rear traffic, and close traffic in general, as does the passenger side styling. The headrests completely obscure seeing cars to the side and in that dangerous "blind zone" and were removed/stored with minor improvement. I immediately put the small mirror add-ons to the side mirrors but didn't see an improvement,and now had something else with which to become accustomed. My '01 Buick had automatic headlights when the car started in the dark, not so this one except at I think the higher end models. What price safety!!!! THIS SHOULD BE STANDARD!! The "map lights??" are very bright. As an interior light they're fine, but as more focused map lights, they leave something to be desired. The automatic unlock and lights-on is nice perk, and fun with which to tease friends. Hardly a big selling point. The interior color is my own fault. The light gray in a gray car makes me feel like it is perpetually winter, brrrrrrr! A warmer complimentary color would be better. We consciously downsized so we knew as campers, we would be sacrificing interior space, but it cost about $500 more to outfit the car with good roof racks that fit the car. Ouch!! And finally, the maintaince package seemed a prudent thing to buy since the car is so high tech and computer controlled, but the $2500 instantly wiped out whatever savings I got by shopping around and negotiating aggressively. As to reliability, vaule for the money, and performance, only time will tell. I look forward to replacing the car before the expensive battery needs replacing.

Traded in my MBZ and love my Prius!
I can't believe how much I love my car. It is very comfortable. My husband is a large man and has plenty of room when he borrows it. I have the Package 4, with the sunroof and the best navigation system. I love the 3d displays and it is always computing something. I have owned many different luxury and sports cars, but I feel so smug and smart when I am driving this one. I love keeping track of my gas mileage. My only criticism is the visibility could be better, but I drove several MBZ SUVs for several years and before that their wagon. Obviously, I was going to lose some visibility, and as expected, I have to be more cautious. I also notice people don't hear me coming in parking lots and tend to walk out in front of the car. So, more care is necessary. I was concerned about potential power loss especially on California freeways and hills where you really need it, but this little car can drive like a sports car. The gas mileage is awesome. And yes, OHM RUNR is my plate!

Most Efficient Car Ever Made
The car is everything it is advertised to be. The 50 MPG rating is not just marketing hype, You don't need to drive "whimpy" to get the 50 MPG. If you want to get 60 MPG you can, by simply not calling for as much performance. I have the base (II) model. Has all the standard features you need. Have traveled from Ohio to Arizona mostly on freeways and at freeway speeds. Could not ask for a more comfortable or better car.

Great car with even more potential
The most frustrating thing about the Prius is how there is more potential in this system than Toyota provides. Just about any Prius fan can attest, it is a great start, but Toyota needs to do more. For starters, dump the tired typical trim price point options, give us bigger batteries, better batteries, plug in options. My Prius loves Chicago traffic, when I get stuck in rush hour traffic, hearing the engine power down to go purely electric is a thing of beauty. Sometimes I am so surprised at the fuel efficiency I take a picture of the dash with the MPG history. (It charts in 5 minute increments). But with larger batteries or a plugin option, it could do even more. So, do you wait for the next model? No, if you are in the market for a car now, enjoy driving a Prius today and be happy knowing that you won't have to fret over what you will buy next... On a nice day, turn off the radio, roll the windows down and enjoy the very quiet hum of the electric motor. One let down: interior road noise is louder than I would like. Pluses: Breaking is fantastic thanks to the regenerative breaking system. Negatives: Acceleration, but really, that isn't why you buy this car in the first place Unexpected Bonus: Driving the Prius is like playing a video game. Managing your resources, trying to maximize every drop of fuel. Toyota user interface designers have give you multiple ways to monitor your every move.

Best car for the money #1 in my book!!
After 12000 miles this car is more than I ever expected! The window sticker said 51 MPG and it gets it! If you have the money buy a PKG V (5) you get so much more Leather, LED Headlights, fogs,17s wheels, Nav....on...on.... I think Toyota has got something here! Best car for the money. 10K between oil changes Gotta love that

package III Winter Gray
Gave the car 4 stars overall. Comfort 4 stars The car is a bit choppy over bumps, the cloth seat bottoms are uncomfortable. Back seat is roomy and comfortable. Performance 3 stars. In eco mode this car will tick off other drivers due to its slow throttle response. In power mode performance is adaquate. Exterior styling 5 stars. It looks like a space shuttle pod! Interior design 2 stars. That center console will bump your right leg and the parking brake will bump your left. Horrible creaks and squeeks from the dash. Value for the money 3 stars. Its hard to play down 50+ mpg, but the interior quality, ride quality, and slow slow slow performance detract from the overall value. Reliabilty 5 stars because its a Toyota.
