2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE AWD

Hi all. Everyone should know that I’m a huge Toyota fan. Having wrote that, I like this suv a lot. The good- nice looking inside and out. Great on gas, like the EV mode. Reliable. The bad-Interior has too much plastic for the price point. Toyota needs to give you more for $$$ when packaging the XLE. A little more “Pep” would be nice. Purchasing accessories is expensive.

Great car with only one flaw

Great on mileage, smooth ride with above average performance. Only negative is the ongoing gas tank not filling to full. I had a new tank installed and problem still exist. Can’t get more than ten gallons into a tank that should hold 14,5. I have addressed this with my local dealer and they basically said that’s the way it’s supposed to be. The disadvantage is you have to stop more often for fill ups which is what I was hoping to avoid by buying a hybrid

Poor gas mileage

If you want a hybrid to get better gas mileage, this is not the car for you. We average 29 mpg not in the city.

Not a luxury car but an SUV that you'll still like

I bought a 2021 Rav4 Hybrid Limited and have owned it for about 15 months now. Previous cars were an Audi Q7, a Lexus RX350, and a BMW 330xi. The RAV4 isn't in that class, but it's also $20,000 less. The 4-cylinder, hybrid engine is buzzy when you mash the accelerator, but when you get up to speed and the EV kicks in, it quiets down. It's got adequate acceleration; it's fast enough to merge into traffic. For a smaller SUV, seating space is adequate for both rows. Trunk space is good too. Front passenger seat does not adjust for height, so taller passengers in front may seem cramped. Not an issue in the driver or back seats. Video screen is a bit dated but useable. Rear camera could be higher resolution but works fine, as does the 360 cameras. Fuel economy is excellent. Good stereo (JBL), good climate controls. Lots of space for your stuff. Camera mounted rear view mirror is ok if your young, at my age my eyes cannot focus on a screen that close so I keep it in mirror mode and only use it when I'm carrying cargo in the trunk. The AWD works well, even with all season radials. Alexa integration never worked right so I don't use it. But Android Auto and Apple Carplay work, albeit in a wired mode. I bought a Toyota this time a around because I plan to keep it for many years while the kids go through college. Didn't want to pay tuition and extra car payments. So it was a balance between good reliability, comfort, and economics that led me to the RAV4 hybrid. If I had to do it again, I probably would've spent a few thousand more on the Prime.

Love my Priuses and now RAV4

It gets me up higher with more road visibility than my Prius. I have extra room for my STUFF! And I can see many cars ahead.

I had wanted to get back into a hybrid

Front seats could have more leg room, as could the back seats. I'm not a big fan of the engine noise when the hybrid battery is on. I do like the exterior styling of the black-out package. The interior is nice and comfortable. I do like the size of the display screen. Not a fan of the remote start system, from an app. Having to pay after one year of use. What kind of crap is that. Don't like the cruise control system. Seems like these two items are done really cheaply. But the overall styling and performance are good.

Wow is an understatement

We downsized to the RAV4 from a 4Runner and our only regret is we didn’t do it sooner. The features that come standard with the RAV4 are better than the best packages available on the 4Runner. Gas Mileage is literally twice what the 4Runner was and the comfort is better as well.

Excited about our new RAV4 Ruby FlarePearl XLE HYB

We like our new RAV4 We did a lot of research before buying it this is our third Toyota we've purchased. We really like the interior there's just a few things we would suggest. We're disappointed that the RAV4 has less storage under the rear deck than our Prius. With XLE package we expected to get the garage door opener built in like it is on our Camry. The other thing we feel could be improved on would be for the crossbars to be adjustable. RAV4 hybrid XLE Convenience and weather package again like our Camry we thought we would get the driver's side electric and lumbar seat. Our salesperson was quick to point out that we had to do a manual adjustment to our passenger side seat on the XLE weather and convenience package that we purchased We appreciate his telling us that. We researched the vehicle and knew that, but it we'd forgotten it when we heard the XLE because we have XLR Camry that has those things Of course you can get those things if you want to go up to a more expensive model of the RAV4 beyond the XLE with the convenience and weather package. Also with the convenience package just by the title you would think that you would get the rear hatch opening with your foot because it says hands-free It does not come on the Rav 4 XLE convenience package We've only had our RAV4 for 2 weeks, so far we love it. We have plenty of legroom comfortable seats Great ride and comfort on the highway and around town When the seats are folded down for things you want to haul our luggage etc for long trips, great inside space. We are happy with our choice and we think anybody would be if they were looking for a sport utility vehicle

A very responsive and roomy car

Being a hybrid, it is very frugal on fuel . Transition from gas power to electric is very smooth. Handling is very crisp. It is very roomy for a vehicle of its size/class.
