Among compact SUVs, both the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V are something of benchmarks. They’ve been in the class since its early days, and both remain important models for their respective brands. Both offer conventional and hybrid drivetrains, though Toyota goes a step further with the RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid, which can travel up to 42 miles on electric power alone, according to EPA estimates. Good car, not very comfortable.

Great car, had it for 2 years with absolutely no issues. Gets upwards of 40 MPG all the time. The only downside is the seats are not terribly comfortable, especially on long car rides.
