2021 Toyota RAV4 Vs. 2021 Honda CR-V: How Do They Compare?

Among compact SUVs, both the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V are something of benchmarks. They’ve been in the class since its early days, and both remain important models for their respective brands. Both offer conventional and hybrid drivetrains, though Toyota goes a step further with the RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid, which can travel up to 42 miles on electric power alone, according to EPA estimates. Both SUVs come standard with important active safety features, but the RAV4 has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard (they’re optional for the CR-V).

Should I Buy the 2021 Toyota RAV4?

The Toyota RAV4 is a well-rounded SUV that’s perfectly suited to a wide range of needs and budgets; it’s a sensible family vehicle that’s loaded with standard safety features. The interior can be noisy and the standard gas engine delivers modest acceleration, but cabin materials are noticeably nicer than those of the previous generation.

Love my Priuses and now RAV4

It gets me up higher with more road visibility than my Prius. I have extra room for my STUFF! And I can see many cars ahead.

I had wanted to get back into a hybrid

Front seats could have more leg room, as could the back seats. I'm not a big fan of the engine noise when the hybrid battery is on. I do like the exterior styling of the black-out package. The interior is nice and comfortable. I do like the size of the display screen. Not a fan of the remote start system, from an app. Having to pay after one year of use. What kind of crap is that. Don't like the cruise control system. Seems like these two items are done really cheaply. But the overall styling and performance are good.

5.0

Wow is an understatement

We downsized to the RAV4 from a 4Runner and our only regret is we didn’t do it sooner. The features that come standard with the RAV4 are better than the best packages available on the 4Runner. Gas Mileage is literally twice what the 4Runner was and the comfort is better as well.
