Hired from Enterprise for a 2,500 mi road trip

This car carried 4 people and LOTS of luggage effortlessly for 2,500 mi. There is plenty power, (I compare everything I drive to my Mercedes 280 SLK sports car), we averaged 75mi/hr, the adaptive cruise control is amazing and the interface is really easy to use for linking with a cellphone and Maps. Gas Consumption was fantastic - $226 for 2,500 mi through 6 states in the South of USA

Atlas over CX-9, Telluride, Ascent

My wife and I compared the CX-9, Atlas, Telluride, and Ascent to the VW Atlas, and the Atlas came out on top. We chose all these to compare as our garage would fit each of these alongside my Camry, and weren't too big. Size The Atlas is large and is more efficient with space than the others. I'm 6'4" and fit comfortably in the 3rd row. I could not comfortably fit in the 2nd row of the CX-9, and could not fit well in the 3rd row of the Telluride and Ascent. The Atlas feels bigger on the inside than the Tahoe even, and it is smaller. It gets 5 stars for efficiency for space. Comfort We bought the SEL model and opted for the 2 captain chairs over the full 2nd row. Outside of the powered features in the front seats, the same level of comfort is extended all the way to the guests in the third row. The seats marry sport and comfort together to provide excellent comfort, but not something reminiscent of grandpa's chair. The powerful rear air conditioning also cools the entire cabin quickly causing the third row to suffer less in the Texas heat. Performance The 267 horsepower is plenty for this vehicle, and is quite responsive. We have the ability to use manual and automatic mode, and my challenge to you is to put it in manual mode and frown. The shifting is very fast and could make you look at the Atlas in a different way. Gotta love that German engineering! The only draw back to the performance is fuel economy. It isn't the greatest, and we weren't expecting it to be similar to the Camry, but in 600 miles, we have filled the tank 3 times. Styling What attracted us to the styling was the body line. It tickles the side of the car from front to back giving it a feel I can only describe as ruggedly refined. Often mistaken for a big Jeep, it gets double takes, and takes on a stylish personality of its own. The headlights at night allow it to stand out like my wife's beautiful blue eyes stand out in a crowd. Lastly, my garage isn't the largest, and the powered trunk door opens up fully without the need to program it to go lower. When open, it is roughly the same height as the vehicle, so no needs for added worry. If you can fit your Atlas in the garage, you can fully open the rear door. Technology I work for a high end technology company, so my palate for disparate technology is quite jaded as I know where technology or features are limited. The technology built natively is quite wonderful. Much like any newer technology, there is a learning curve, but it can be learned quite easily. The completely digital gauge cluster allows navigation to be imported from the infotainment center to the screen allowing your eyes to glance at the information quicker, and spend more time with your eyes on the road. The Apple Car Play features help eliminate distracted driving, and also allow you to stay connected. It is done beautifully. It's only draw back is that the native features can only be used on the gauge cluster, so if you are using Waze for navigation, you are limited to the infotainment screen, and lack the ability to put that information anywhere else.

Crappy car

Garbage. Will never by a Volkswagen and never buy anything from Libertyville Volkswagen. They are lying shysters! Especially George Scott the salesman and the sales managers. Worst service. Sold me a lemon and they are liars.

Very Nice SUV

This SUV is spacious and comfortable. The controls are fairly intuitive, and the performance from the 2.0 Liter is EXCELLENT! Reports of the car being sluggish, etc., are not true in my experience. It is very quick (0-60 in just over 7 seconds in a car this big?? NOT sluggish!). I am getting 29+ MGP on the highway and around 25 combined. I have owned Honda, Toyota, Ford, Chevy, Nissan and Subaru....and so far, this tops them all. Reliability remains to be seen, but so far, this is the best SUV purchase I've made and I am the happiest with it so far!

The safety features can't be beat!

We like to take trips and this new cruise control is wonderful. Now I can go to sleep while my husband drives and know we are going to be safe when we get where we're going.

Sweet Ride

I rented this car while in New Mexico visiting family. It is a perfect solution to someone who needs the size of a minivan but does not want to drive a minivan.
