2017 Volvo S60 consumer reviews

Bought two 2012 S60 T6Rs new. Please don't believe the glowing reviews on this model. Sold one while still under warranty. Repeated trips to dealer (a 250-mile round trip) on both cars. Entire Nav screen on one had to be replaced. Dealer had good customer service until remaining car was out of warranty, but almost all major fixes were temporary (battery drain, tire sensor warning, door handle sensors). The geniuses who designed the tire sensor warning forgot to add a feature that tells you which wheel is the problem. Dealer is unable to accurately diagnose the problem sensor, so when the vehicle goes out of warranty, the customer must pay to remove all wheels, then remove all tires, replace all sensors, and then re-assemble everything. After going through this procedure twice and replacing all sensors with OEM sensors, the tire warning light is still on. All major problems that were supposedly "fixed" under warranty (except metal shards in the steering gearbox) eventually returned, and Volvo and the dealer (Centennial Motors in Pensacola, FL, aka Centennial Imports, aka Volvo Cars of Pensacola) disclaimed any responsibility. Dealer began treating my wife and I with contempt and started charging us big time for useless diagnostics when problems persisted after expiration of warranty. Over $2,000 in diagnostics and non-warranty repairs since car went out of warranty (less than 50,000 miles, but more than 5 years), and the same problems persist. My mechanic thinks the CCM (central control module) is part of the problem. Bad CCM is an item that only the dealer can replace and reprogram at an astronomical price. The bad CCM is a problem that the dealer should have recognized while the car was under warranty. Dealer addressed battery drain (seven batteries in three years) by disabling and by-passing the Sirius radio feature. That was four batteries ago. Dealer at first denied doing this half-assed fix, however my mechanic found the disconnected wires and the jumper cable. When a battery is replaced, it is necessary to reprogram the computer system on this poorly designed vehicle!! This model is a technologically-complex mechanical nightmare that Volvo and the dealer cannot, or will not, repair, in or out of warranty. Volvo is well-aware of the numerous defects in this model. They appear on the web and on Volvo service bulletins. The dealer plays dumb, scratches its head, and tells the customer "tough s---" when these problems reappear out of warranty. I finally gave up and got rid of the car. Owning a Volvo has been one of the most frustrating and expensive experiences in my life, and I will never own another Volvo.

Purchased this car for our 17 yr old daughter after someone hit her in her Honda Accord and totaled it. She wanted a car that felt sturdier to her and the Volvo fit the bill! We are very pleased with the purchase.

Love this car. Love the seats- they hug you. Love the drive. Beautiful classic styling. Simple dash controls. Responsive steering. Navigation easy to use. Nice sound system.

2017 Volvo S60 T5 AWD - This car is fantastic, it is a rock star, it is fantastic in the snow. It is hands down the most comfortable seats in any car I've ever owned. Overall the car meets my needs, but it's also a sexy looking car. It drive's well, has plenty of power, and more than enough space to pack the family up with all of our gear for a long ski weekend away. It was a toss up between this car and the usual AWD German options, we made the right choice.

The car is stylish, comfortable, powerful, handles great, quiet, smooth, economical, comfortable, and up to date and is by far the best car I have ever owned.

I love my Volvo S60...what a fun and sporty sedan! I have always driven 2-door cars; however, this gives me a 2-door feel with the convenience of 4-doors. The reason I gave a 4 of 5-star rating on Interior Design is that the control panels are difficult to adjust while driving. Beautiful to look at, but not very functional. The 4 of 5-star rating for Reliability is only because I have not had to test this with the car since I just purchased it a little over a month ago. Overall--LOVE this car and I think Volvo has made a lifelong believer! :)

I am very happy with this vehicle as evidenced by the fact that this replaced my previous 2014 Volvo S60 T5 AWD. Whenever I drive this vehicle, I smile.... it is a great car!

Every time I look at my pearl white Volvo S60 R Design, I just melt! This is car is sophisticated, classy, and fast!

I live the S60. It is so safe, comfortable, classy and just everything nice. This is my first Volvo and I have had Hondas in the past but I think I'll stick with a Volvo.

This car offers an exteremly smooth ride/comfort, has the power that I need in addition to excellent safety ratings and options available for a very reasonable price!!!
