2.5 years ago I hit a deer. With no headlight, they worked me in and took excellent care of getting my truck repaired and back to me. Recently my A/C stopped working. The condenser had failed. The condenser sits next to the radiator and had been replaced during the repair. They again replaced it at no cost to me, way past the one year mark. I am impressed with their integrity.

As a kid, my grandmother had a gold Malibu LS with every option in the book. I, unfortunately, wasn’t able to get said Malibu, as it kicked the bucket when I was younger, so I bought my own for the low cost of 900$. Never once has it failed me. She’s unfortunately quite rusty and has needed wheel bearings, tie rods, ball joints and the works, but she always turns over and gets me where I need to go, comfortably and safety. The old pushrod 3100 isn’t anything bragworthy, but it’ll get you the xxxx out of there when and if you need it to. I highly recommend this generation of Malibu for a first car, or cheap reliable transportation. But maintenance is an absolute must on these cars do you wish to keep them going.

We’re very nice got back to me right away but I couldn’t get there they were farther then I thought. .
Its a reliable vehicle.
I bought my 01 malibu used with 160k+ miles and its in surprisingly good shape. Im the 3rd or 4th owner and almost everything works and the engine runs great. One of the motors for the driver's seat went out so its stuck in one position. My only worry is electrical, the blinkers don't always work. Overall im very happy with my purchase and i will drive it as long as i can. I am very easy on cars and maintain them so i expect to put another 100k miles on it at least

Excellent experience buying a car from this dealership.
Excellent experience buying a car from this dealership. Great test drive -- got to go on the freeway, etc., and both of us got to drive and test lots of features. No pressure and very cordial, just showing the car and answering our questions. We weren't able to pay with debit card at this dealership, but reps were able to advise us on buying money orders nearby. We love our new (used) car!

Great knowledge of their products, low pressure, honest negotiators and open communication. Very happy with my purchase experience.
It is an excellent car
I love this vehicle. It has new breaks, new alternator, new work on radiator and pumps, new oil change etc. I have put a lot into this car. It is a make and model that did not use a timing belt so you so not have to worry about that!

Highly recommend!
Highly recommend! Very communicative and professional. They get the car ready to pass inspection and then you finish the payment. Far better than dealing with dealerships. Incredible potential to be a serious contender in the car marketplace.
Best Car I've Owned
I bought this car as a new 2005 model (i think I actually bought it in Dec 2004). I've had many cars over my driving live but the 2005 Malibu is my favorite. I got rid of it in 2016 when I traded it in for a 2016 Silverado. At the time it had a little over 200k miles. For that last 5-6 yrs I only put may 8K a year on it (used my company car) I really cant say I have had any major issues other than normal maintenance wihch I performed myself. I had the 6cyl engine which had lots of power and got on average 30-34 mpg which is basically what it was rated for. On the inside everything worked perfectly, I had the upgraded seats which were nice. The front seats were very roomy, the back not so great based on my passengers but unacceptable. I've had some decent cars in the past (current), nothing that I would say any were a lemon, junk or that I regretted but the 2005 Malibu was in a class by itself. Chevy did good

Here is a review of my start to finish process of buying
Here is a review of my start to finish process of buying a car from Gateway Classic Cars, Ft. Lauderdale: ----- 1. The sales people who you work with are not on site. They're working remote so they don't have eyes on the car. ---- So, 2. You'll want to be connected with someone on site who can start and drive the car, provide a walkaround video, pictures of whatever you want and give their input. I worked with Alex at the Ft. Lauderdale location for my purchase and he was outstanding with helping me to know the car before making an offer. He is the reason that this is a 5 star review. -------- 3. Hauling: They'll get you a quote for hauling the vehicle. I chose Nexus Transport myself to use. They were a bit cheaper and top rated by Forbes. That went just fine. --------- 4. These cars are all on consignment. So, I feel that you have to be a little more careful because you have another party who may not have disclosed things to Gateway. Best practice is to get a pre-buy done from someone like Lemon Squad. That being said, I was so comfortable with my deal, took the risk and waived the pre-buy. And in my case, the Prowler is a mint gem and I have no concerns after receiving it. Also, there is a common thought then you buy a car like this, you should budget 10% or so of the price for maintenance right after you get the car because stuff always comes up, otherwise, don't buy a used car. --------5. Since they're on consignment, they have commissions they charge the seller. As a buyer, I don't care if I see a commissions line on the purchase agreement. As long as my out the door number was what I offered, that's fine. --------6. I wired money to them and within a few hours, I had all the fully executed paperwork back in my hands. Title took about 3 weeks to receive by UPS. And the folder had everything I needed to register the car in my state. Wow! Thank you Barbara! ------ 7. So here is what breeds loyalty. Alex at the Ft. Lauderdale location made sure the car was completely ready to be picked up including accessories that were bubble wrapped. The car was supposed to be picked up at Noon on Saturday, plenty of time before they closed at 5pm. He stayed until the truck arrived...very late....AT 1:30am Sunday morning!!!! (Otherwise, it would have sat until Tuesday). I cannot believe he did that for me. I received my car loading video at 2am. That's unbelievable service that deserves more than 5 stars. ------- Summary: I'd have zero issues with buying from Gateway again....they just operate in a different dealership style than what I'm used to, which is just fine.
Great Mom Mobile
I bought my Malibu new after trading in my minivan, I was sick of minivans and have been very impressed with my Malibu. The car is large enough to fit everything I need, it accelerates quickly and still runs strong! I love how quiet the engine is and how smooth it drives. It rarely needs repairs and seems like it will run forever. The only ongoing issue it’s had that no mechanic can fix is that it has a tendency to die on me when I am backing out of parking spaces and my driveway. Sometimes after it dies I have to fight it a bit to get it started again and sometimes it starts right backup. I would highly recommend this car to anyone.

TJ and Rod were excellent! TJ was patient and fought to get us the best deal possible. Rod let us use his office and helped us set up the electronics in our new car. As first time buyers we were very comfortable and would highly recommend this dealership, TJ, and Rod. I will be back when I need another car!
Extraordinary Reliability
I bought this car when I was attending college. It now has about 250,000 miles on It and everything still works. Air is cold, it passes smog check year after year. It is by far the most reliable car I have ever owned.

Seems to be a good place to buy my vette from.shouldnt be much longer and I'll have another one.
My first car, it's decent but a lot of issues.
I got it handed down to me from my mom 5 years go, she bought it 8 years ago but it didn't have any issues and was a good car until it got around to me. I tried my best to keep up on it but so many things just kept breaking on it because of the mileage. I've had to replace struts 3 times, CV axles, rack and pinion, sway bars and steering rack. All the underneath components are complete garbage. Don't even get me started on the never-ending overheating issue. It's got the not-so-great 3.1 V6. I've replaced the thermostat, cooling fans and the coolant tank. Yet to this day it eats up a full tank of coolant within 2 days of putting the xxxx in. Because of this the heat works about 20% of the time and it gets really hot unless you're driving down the road. The interior is possibly the ugliest i've ever seen other than the wood grain on the dash which I really like. Despite the mechanical nightmares I actually really like this car. It's the LS package so it's got all the features possible. Power windows, seats, mirrors, door locks and OnStar. On the outside it's got the rare 5 spoke painted rims which they only made specifically for the 2001 model. Black pinstriping and the lowered side skirts and bumpers. The paint is in good shape, with the exception of a couple chips and a little rust it still shines up like new. It's very comfortable to drive though, the suspension floats when you're going down the road and the car feels huge from the inside. The horsepower is decent too, gets up to speed but hesitates a lot because of the horrible 4th gear overdrive which kicks in going a minimum of 30mph at times if you're just trying to cruise slow. Overall I would recommend this car.. but only for a second vehicle or a Sunday driver. It is a solid tank and will run forever however it is inevitable to run into countless issues with front end parts and the engine overheating. (The intake manifold is the most common issue with this). I would recommend buying it, regular service is a must though.

Good Overall, not in snow
I’ve driven this car for 3 years and it still lasts me, it’s just now starting to crap out a bit. Not too great in snow but it does have a traction control button and a low gear. The cars got a good bit of punch to it but be careful as it destroys the tires, I’ve had numerous things in the car give out (brake fluid leak, horn hasn’t worked for years, vent valve solenoid has a very weak connection) but even through all the abuse I’ve put it through she’s still going stron.

Good and reliable never left on the side of the rd
I bought the car used at 191,669 and she now at 208,781 miles. She is a good reliable car the only things that broke where thing the previous owner neglected, headliner was removed before I got her. She ran out of coolant when I first got it and over heated and the temp gauge topped out but few thousand miles later head gasket is fine the only problem is a slight lifter tick that was there when i bought the car. She will spin tire if you know how. The seats are comfortable
