I asked about having the vehicle inspected and they transported it a mercedes specialist shop. There were repairs that shop said needed and they paid to have the repairs done. No argument . I think the 964 has gotten a bum rap. I have owned a 1992 Model 964 for 7 years. It has been very reliable. It isn't particularly fast by contemporary standards but fast enough for most traffic and road conditions. I was a bit concerned about the dual mass flywheel issue with the 964 but after forking over a few thousand for various deferred maintenance shortly after buying the car it has been very trouble free.

I absolutely love my Solstice GXP. It's got all the pep you could ever want,it handles & corners like it's on rails! I laugh everytime I see & easily pass Miata's,what a joke they are. I see people complaining about no storage space with these cars! Yes a little more space would be nice but that's what my truck is for. I go every 2 weeks & get groceries & supplies & I spend between $250-$400 and i can get it all in the car. And there are big items in there like 2 cases of pop,a big pail of Cat litter (the 35 lb. pail) and lots of other items. 12 rolls of paper towels, I do use the passenger & floor too but I can get it all in there. I also see people complain about cup holders,and somewhere to put change. The guy in Delaware. There are pockets on the front of both seats,rear of them too. Also the cup holder on the passenger side of console by their left knee,as well as the 2 behind your right elbow. If it bothers you that much buy the aftermarket cup holder for these cars! I'm 6 ft tall & don't have any sight problems he complained about,my Solstice has a power seat button that raises & lowers the drivers seat (only) not forward & back. The button is between your knees more on the left side. I had my car for almost 3 yrs before I discovered this. LOL I took the seat out to install some wiring for the interior lighting I put in,that's when I saw it. The only thing I can complain about is the location of the power window buttons. When I rest my right arm I accidentally hit the buttons and the windows go down. But that's not a big deal. Besides this winter when I put the car away I'm going to relocate them to the center console behind the shifter,because I can! The stereo system is quite impressive for a factory unit. I've had several thousand dollar Alpine,Nakamichi,ADS,Eclipse,Denon systems in my cars thru the years & this is comparable. Could use another subwoofer,to really get the bass i want. But it rocks! My brother always says I can't believe that's a factory system!!!. I love my Solstice. Everywhere I go i get asked what kind of car it is,how fast it is,and they love the color,Mean Yellow! I get alot of looks,especially when I get out of it because this spring i installed the Lamborghini door kit. So people really freak out when they see that. I think for giggles I'm going to buy either Lamborghini or Ferrari emblems to put on it. LOL I did tgat on a Dodge Neon i had years ago, i put Chevy emblems on it. When i traded it in the salespeople laughed hard when they saw it. I bought it in August of 2018 with 13,000 miles,I've got 36,000 on it now & haven't had a single problem. None!!!!

As a proud customer of BAS, I am extremely delighted to disclose my positive experience to all customers who appreciate quality service. It has been about 4 years since I purchased my luxury SUV from them and everytime I go there for service, the job is always done effectively for a marginal fee. Recently, my truck couldn't move forward and backward and I had it towed to them. To my big surprise, I had it back yesterday (11/20/19). While I was expecting a monster bill, to my big surprise, the invoice was zero. When I asked why, the answer was: " What was done, only required a nominal charge", and as a customer, that charge was fully discounted. In my opinion, any other place would have charged at least $2,000.00. Thus, with that experience, coupled with many others, I am proud to recommend BAS to anyone who's purchasing or servicing a motor vehicle. I purchased a vehicle there a few days ago and my experience was FANTASTIC! I was shopping from out of state and my salesperson Alfredo made the whole process super easy and agreeable from my initial phone call and all the way until I took delivery of the car. Our negotiations were straightforward, he facilitated getting the car to a shop for a pre-purchase inspection I’d setup and also contacted a company for me to get a temporary wrap for the car to be protected on my drive home back to NC (shout out to Alex and the guys over at ONEighty who fit me in on short notice. Thank you!). Once I got in town at Staten Island, Alfredo’s team was super accommodating and welcoming as well. The 991.2 Porsche 911 really is the everyday sports car. Not conspicuous but also not mundane. With so many variants available, its hard not to find a 911 that fits YOUR needs and wants. The engine is sublime, the interior is refined and well built, and the cockpit ergonomics are unmatched. After driving a 911 (any variant), any other sub-150K sports car is just Meh. One of the underappreciated aspects of using this car on a daily basis is how easy it is to live with: the outward visibility is excellent, the tech is great, and the car is comfortable on long drives. When looking for your first 911, you should consider with a well-loved 991. I prefer the "Dot 2's" because of the turbo engine and the Apple CarPlay but the 991.1's have a charm of their own and shouldn't be discounted. One of the few drawbacks to any 911 is the road noise...you will have to get used to hearing those big tires hitting the road and if you drive on rough roads the majority of the time you WILL be annoyed (maybe look at a NSX or a C8 instead). Otherwise, you will not regret the ownership experience!

Anyone who knows me, knows how much I hate buying cars. They also know that I rarely write reviews. Despite that, my recent purchase from Dan Martins Auto Depot makes me what to share my experience. Our 1998 V70 served us well for the past 20 years, but had some issues that would prevent it from passing NYS inspection. I decided to look at possible replacements. Initially, I was thinking about picking up a 2-3 year old car, but wasn’t crazy about the current styles. Looking on-line, I happened upon a 2007 V70 at Dan Martins that looked like it checked all of the boxes. The mileage was low for its age, the condition seemed perfect, it appeared to be well maintained, and the long roof wagon provided lots of room for our two dogs. I don’t make car buying decisions very fast, so I mulled it over for a while before contacting Dan Martins about its availability (and asking my wife for permission to consider it). Peter promptly replied and sent me a link with loads of pictures that clearly showed the car’s condition. He told me that they had carefully gone over the car and what parts they replaced. The free CarFax showed that the car had been carefully maintained by its previous two owners. The ‘problem’?—I live about 300 miles away from Yonkers, outside Rochester, NY. I toyed with taking the bus or train down to Yonkers to see it and possibly drive it back. Peter was so easy to deal with, that I had confidence to buy the car, without seeing it in person. I wired the money, Peter found a very reasonable shipper to truck it to me, and a few days later, the car was in my driveway. The car was exactly as described, if not better. I feel like I have a new car, at a fraction of the cost. I told Peter, that he made the entire sales process to be as easy as buying something on Amazon. After buying this car, I may not wait another 20 years to buy my next. I highly recommend, without hesitation, Dan Martins Auto Depot and especially, Peter. For me, it was a welcome change to the car buying experience.

I mistakenly sold my 2012 E350 in 2023 thinking I should upgrade to an SUV. I regretted selling the wagon, though the 2020 MB GLB was a very nice vehicle. So I found a 2011 E350 wagon and couldn't been happier. Maintenance is key, yes. But the leather (not MBTex) wears very well, and the exterior is flawless.

I was initially looking for a used Golf, but the more I looked at the Beetle the more I liked it. When I found the one I ended up buying, it was love at first drive. This little car packs a punch with the 2.0T, and will throw you back in your seat. It’s an absolute blast to drive. Handles well around town and on the interstate, where it could easily get one in trouble since it wants to GO. The same engine as is found in the GTI, so this should be unsurprising. Easily gets 30+mpg on the highway when cruising along, typically around 20-25 city. These cars handle city driving just fine, but they are meant for the freeway in my opinion. I find the interior to be quite luxurious. Heated leather seats (not available in the Golf) with plenty of storage compartments. Not many frills, just a sleek and mostly practical dash. The trunk is big enough for grocery runs, and the rear seats fold forward for larger loads. It’s not going to haul large appliances or furniture, although it could possibly carry some bigger stuff on a roof rack. The Fender audio system is impressive, wouldn’t change a thing about it except it could benefit from an updated head unit with CarPlay. This hasn’t been an issue for me. I think the car is a real looker, it turns heads and has drawn the occasional compliment. My used model had some imperfections, but it’s still a great looking car that I want to look after and keep for as long as I can. It feels well built, the doors close with the satisfying weighty thud of a premium vehicle. Overall, I am very happy with my 2013 beetle. It’s not only fun, but it seems to be reliable with a couple caveats that some owners might not be aware of. The 2.0T engine is designed for premium fuel, using regular will eventually damage it. The 2.5 can run regular, but I believe the 1.8T will also want premium. The reason for this is lower octane fuel will cause detonation in these high compression engines. If you don’t know what detonation is, just know it’s bad. The oil needs changed more regularly than the manufacturer recommended 10k miles. 5k to be safe, 7k at a stretch. This is especially true for higher mileage vehicles. Speaking of stretch, there is a known issue with some 2.0T engines where the timing chain stretches over time and many miles, so if buying used that’s something I’d have a mechanic check out. This is an expensive maintenance item, but IF it’s needed, getting it done along with the tensioner and a new water pump for good measure will ensure that the new to you Beetle is reliable for many years and miles to come. The other issue is carbon build up. Getting it cleaned out is not as spendy as the timing chain but it’s also not a cheap fix. I believe this can largely be avoided by using top tier fuel (it contains detergents that help with this) as well as regular oil changes and some regular spirited driving. Would not recommend this car to someone who mainly does town or city driving, the 2.5 engine might be better suited for that. According to my research, the 2.5 is quite bulletproof BUT it’s not good for any engine to be driven at low RPM all the time.

I have a sunset orange metallic convertible with cognac interior and a black top. Very sporty. Get a lot of compliments. Zippy. Love the combination as I ordered it from the factory. A little tight on the inside but manageable.
