I bought the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT Mega Cab Diesel Heavy Duty as a dealer demo with 8,000 miles on it. Didn't need a mega cab but needed to replace my 1996 so they offered it to me for a deal I couldn't refuse. I have to say, it's a monster and I love it! Have had minimal issues other than the ECM going out at 110,000 miles and Dodge wouldn't warranty it. It tows anything I hook up to and with diesel prices in CA, I can brag about 17 to 21 mph around town and 27 to 30 on hi ways. Towing can cut mpg in about half, if you get stuck in slow lane up a grade, but still, who can boast about that with 195k miles on it today. I agree with the reviews on parking and turn ratio but I can back it in easier than doing a 3 point pull in at any parking lot. How's that for lady with a big truck!!

Im the second owner of a 2006 Ram 3500 5.9 CUMMINS CREW CAB SLT Bighorn SRW. It is a 4x4 with the 8ft. bed. I am currently at 375,083 miles. I can recommend this truck being one of the most solid and dependable trucks I've ever had the privilege of owning. My grandfather purchased this brand new in 2005 and I inherited it in 2017. I put at least 60 miles on it daily. This is on the original block, and has not been overhauled. The transmission however was overhauled at 250,000 miles. The fuel injectors were warrantied at that same service. I have had to obviously do typical wear and tear on the vehicle such as ball joints wheel bearings shocks Etc. However overall I would say the reliability has been outstanding. I would not have a single problem getting in the vehicle and driving across the country right at this moment without a single concern for reliability .

So far I put 230k miles on my truck. Other than a few expected replacement parts I have had no major repairs, only standard maintenance. It has tremendous power, idles and runs smooth, shifts solid, quiet in the cab and smooth ride on pavement. The interior has held up VERY well, no rattles or broken knobs etc.

Very strong drivetrain and overall body is solid I’ve put lotta miles on my truck I have had no problems with it at all not even with lightbulbs. I have 411,988 miles in my 2005 dodge ram Laramie 4x4 6 speed Cummins diesel.. For an 05 it’s unusually loaded… power leather heated seats factory moonroof factory blue tooth navigation … I don’t know of any option not ordered. This truck runs and drives absolutely amazingly. Only second clutch second set of injectors.Original fuel delivery offers no issues … I service myself with only the best OEM or better parts .Custom dual exhaust sounds awesome…Id drive it anywhere anytime.Have 411k in this and 352k on my 2004 Hemi ram…. I call them my Semi and my Hemi…750,000 miles between the 2 and both original drivetrains…. Love it when people say Japanese cars are the best… I say look at my 2 Dodge odometers!!!

This drive train is awesome. Strong and dependable. Truck is very clean with minimal wear & tear. Engine has always had either Amsoil or Mobil 1 Synthetic lubricants.

This truck has been outstanding. Owned one since 2007 and it will tow anything, is very comfortable, has been very reliable and still a great looking truck! The 5.9L Cummins is simply one of the best diesel engines ever put in a pickup.

A great work horse, bullet proof Cummins. Only fault rusted rear passenger side fender. Used for business, heavy deliveries. I still wish I had this truck.
