Kunes Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Platteville review
Ricky was amazing! Was not pushy at all like a lot of sales people are these days. Cody and Preston made the worst part of the whole car buying process to be easy quick and fun! Highly recommend Kunes Platteville and the team.
1999 Dodge Ram Wagon review
This vehicle is fully-equipped from the factory, with power windows, locks, mirrors, and driver's seat, cd/cassette/am/fm, as well as the 360ci (5.9l) Magnum V8. The interior is functional and easy to use, though middling on material quality. Although some might lambaste the use of exposed screws in the assembly, I regard it as an advantage; it makes it much easier to tighten up door panels to eliminate squeaks and rattles, of which this van has none. Room is excellent, with all three rows having ample room to spread out, and with plenty of room for cargo as well. The exceptions here are the folks in front, who are short-changed by the wheel wells and the engine cover that leave precious little foot room for the driver, and even less for the passenger. The ride is quite simply fantastic. Although you sit practically on top of the front wheels which gives a curious sensation, road imperfections are gloriously handled. But, the soft suspension and tall design give it a top-heavy feel. Sheer lateral grip is surprisingly good, but it's obviously not a vehicle to be hustled around. Also, I found the power steering setup to be the worst of both worlds. The steering is relatively stiff, yet still slow and provides little feedback; either lighten it to suit the slow ratio, or to quicken the ratio up and give it more feedback. I am planning on adding a brody knob for parking lot manervering, which is poor at best. With a 52-ft turning circle, you will not be jockeying this vehicle for position. Speaking of hustling, the Magnum V8 delivers 245hp and 335lb-ft of torque, and allows you to roast the tires at will, even running the air conditioning. However, its great weight counts against it, and with 3.55:1 gears it's a little sluggish, though reasonably quick for a vehicle its size. 3.92:1 gears would be a recommended modification. Gas mileage has been 14.03mpg, with 50/50 city/highway driving, judicious use of cruise control, and lots of a/c use. Its size is formidable. It is somewhat intimidating on the road, and other drivers tend to give it its due respect. The seating height is higher even than most SUV's, for those who appreciate sitting high. It does not maneuver very well, but on the freeway is at least as adept as anything else. But, with the hood invisible from the outside, judging parking is not always easy and I have not learned it yet.
