I have owned three different Dakotas. All three of them we're extremely reliable and The Styling can't be beat. My 2001 had the 4.7 engine and it was a beast. My 2008 Dakota is absolutely beautiful. It has the 3.7 liter engine, which seems to do pretty good.

Bought it brand new, good use of space in center console, everything logically placed. Very few issues. Seat seam wore out from entry and exit on regular basis.

I have owned my 2005 Dodge Dakota 4.7 Laramie since 2012 as of writing this is in the middle of August 2025. I have had no issues with my truck. The truck runs perfect I’ve towed heavy loads many times over 500 miles. This is the best vehicle I’ve ever had. I had a 1986 Toyota pick up with a 22 R engine that blew the head gaskets twice back in 1992. I’ve had a 2016 Toyota Highlander that one was OK but the interior started cracking. I have a 2020 Kia Telluride had to replace the transmission. I’ve had a 1985 GMC blazer had to replace the engine in 1992 with less then 100,00 miles on it. Right now my truck sits on 18 inch rims 31 inch tires no suspension lift. The 2005 dakota has KO 3 all terrain 31 inch tires and has a bunch of overland equipment on it with a Ikamper tent In the interior it has no cracks or blemishes. I can tell you that this is probably the best truck I will own for the rest of my life I don’t plan to ever get rid of it like I said this is a solid truck. I love it. The truck also has over 170,000 miles on it. No transmission issues no engine issues no issues at all. i’ve also taken it out trailing in a mountains, terrain where you see Toyota Trd pros jjeeps, and everything and I get a lot of compliments on it.

This my 2nd Dodge Dakota, I would recommend another one to anyone who wants manual truck. My 1st was 1997 Dodge Dakota, I actually prefer the 97 style to the 2006 model, this year would make my truck 26 yrs old. Still on the road, just has a few maintenance issues, still planning on keeping my 97, gonna put it in the shop for some TLC. I guess what I am trying to say is that the Dodge corporation made one xxxx of a truck, I believe that if the 2006 last as long as my 97, then this will be my last truck. Nothing better than shifting gears with the windows rolled down, going 60 mph.

I bought the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT Mega Cab Diesel Heavy Duty as a dealer demo with 8,000 miles on it. Didn't need a mega cab but needed to replace my 1996 so they offered it to me for a deal I couldn't refuse. I have to say, it's a monster and I love it! Have had minimal issues other than the ECM going out at 110,000 miles and Dodge wouldn't warranty it. It tows anything I hook up to and with diesel prices in CA, I can brag about 17 to 21 mph around town and 27 to 30 on hi ways. Towing can cut mpg in about half, if you get stuck in slow lane up a grade, but still, who can boast about that with 195k miles on it today. I agree with the reviews on parking and turn ratio but I can back it in easier than doing a 3 point pull in at any parking lot. How's that for lady with a big truck!!

Richard Wade was an excellent salesman! Even though I told him I was not sure that I was ready to buy a car, he patiently explained the car’s features and answered all of my questions without making me feel pressured. He noticed a scratch that I had not seen, and had it repaired. When we were going through the settings, he made sure that I knew which ones were most important for me and set them up. Im the second owner of a 2006 Ram 3500 5.9 CUMMINS CREW CAB SLT Bighorn SRW. It is a 4x4 with the 8ft. bed. I am currently at 375,083 miles. I can recommend this truck being one of the most solid and dependable trucks I've ever had the privilege of owning. My grandfather purchased this brand new in 2005 and I inherited it in 2017. I put at least 60 miles on it daily. This is on the original block, and has not been overhauled. The transmission however was overhauled at 250,000 miles. The fuel injectors were warrantied at that same service. I have had to obviously do typical wear and tear on the vehicle such as ball joints wheel bearings shocks Etc. However overall I would say the reliability has been outstanding. I would not have a single problem getting in the vehicle and driving across the country right at this moment without a single concern for reliability .

The Lemon Squad appraiser also took an extended test drive to ascertain how it drove and the reliable operation of all options such as windows, A/C, seat heaters, sun/moon roof, etc...

I got my truck 4 years ago.it is the best truck a guy could ever ask for.the day i bout it i put a 1000 pound harly in the back , bought a 28 foot trailor had the toe package instald.hooked it up and drove the coast.not one problem still to this day love it.i want to add duel exaust any sugestions?.

Great truck had several accidents in it worse was at 60 -70 on hiway i hit the concrete devider. Only bent bumper in a lil. I had to pull out the bump a lil so wheel wouldnt rub. Still drive like a champ.

I bought this truck brand NEW, I now have 362,000 miles on her and she is still running great. My only repairs were a shaft in the transfer case and new bushings in the rear suspension. . I am planning on replacing the front struts and I am thinking about 3/4 ton leaf springs. Why ? Because the truck is used as a truck not a family sedan. Bought this Dakota Quad 4x4 new. It has the 4.7 V8. The absolute Best Truck I’ve ever owned. It’s still lookin and running like new with 250.000 miles on it. Never had any problems with it. It’s sitting in the drive way right now.
