I have been car shopping for over two years. Between pushy salespeople, price gouging, misinformation, lack of inventory and flat out lying, I had become very discouraged about finding a suitable replacement for my lovely old Subaru. Bought this Dakota Quad 4x4 new. It has the 4.7 V8. The absolute Best Truck I’ve ever owned. It’s still lookin and running like new with 250.000 miles on it. Never had any problems with it. It’s sitting in the drive way right now.

Awesome Truck. The only thing I have issues with is the rear brakes and keeping the adjusted. Other than that GREAT Truck! The engine is very tough, strong and reliable. Pulls like a tank and best of all I get 23 plus mpg on the highway and around 16-18 in town.

Mine has 260k on the miles and still runs like it has 50k on it. Tows great. Looks great. Sounds great. My fav vehicle I’ve ever owned.

Mine is a big black Ram 3500 2WD hemi engine, purchased new in 2003. Only two mechanical problems since I bouight it: (1) right front wheel bearing failure at only 20,000 miles and (2) partial wiring harness replacement around 115,000 miles. This truck is a real beast of burden. My long bed is rated at 4,900 lbs carrying capacity, but I have over-loaded it to at l3ast 6,000 lbs with no negative results, Pulling capacity also I have overloaded up to 25,000 lbs with no negative results. Under load like this, it rides even smoother and does not seem to notice the loads of granite monuments we hauled in it. The truck is as comfortable as an automobile--smooth, right-on steering, and great acceleration. At 160,000 miles, I like the truck so much that I am paying a body shop to renovate it with all new fenders, hood, and tailgate, total new paint job, new wheel covers to make it look like new since it still drives like new. $15,000 may seem excessive to some, but when you figure that this same truck new today is around $85,000, it makes sense to me, especially since I prefer older technology over the new digitalized electronics on new vehicles. We change oil every 3,000 miles and change all the filters every time. The engine still runs like new. One problem with this model is the dashboard. The thick plastic used for the dashboard began cracking at around three years, and continued until the upper portion of the dashboard was totally in pieces. Dodge refused to stand by this obvious defect, and wanted over $2,000 to make it right. However, for a few hundred dollars, my body shop has found a hard plastic (hopefully good plastic) cover that is supposed to look like new. Toyota always stands by any such defects, so U.S. companies have lots to learn about satisfying customers in taking care of their own obvious mistakes. The other problem is that the clearcoat over the black paint job has oxidized and turned white as seems to happen with lots of older U.S. cars--why I have no idea. Dodge and just about all the U.S. car companies need to find out how Toyota paints cars so the paint job lasts for the lifetime of the card. Drive through any large shopping center parking lot and notice which cars are showing faded paint, and you will see what I mean. So, final verdict--great vehicle backed up by cheap and uncaring customer service. I would not go near a Dodge dealership after buying one of the best trucks on the market!

The vehicles there range greatly in price and condition but they always allow for pre-purchase inspections with your own mechanic. That was really nice and we were able to get my daughter into a car that was safe and reliable. Tyler went above and beyond to make sure we were getting the best rates and were %100 confident in our choice of vehicle. I have owned my 2005 Dodge Dakota 4.7 Laramie since 2012 as of writing this is in the middle of August 2025. I have had no issues with my truck. The truck runs perfect I’ve towed heavy loads many times over 500 miles. This is the best vehicle I’ve ever had. I had a 1986 Toyota pick up with a 22 R engine that blew the head gaskets twice back in 1992. I’ve had a 2016 Toyota Highlander that one was OK but the interior started cracking. I have a 2020 Kia Telluride had to replace the transmission. I’ve had a 1985 GMC blazer had to replace the engine in 1992 with less then 100,00 miles on it. Right now my truck sits on 18 inch rims 31 inch tires no suspension lift. The 2005 dakota has KO 3 all terrain 31 inch tires and has a bunch of overland equipment on it with a Ikamper tent In the interior it has no cracks or blemishes. I can tell you that this is probably the best truck I will own for the rest of my life I don’t plan to ever get rid of it like I said this is a solid truck. I love it. The truck also has over 170,000 miles on it. No transmission issues no engine issues no issues at all. i’ve also taken it out trailing in a mountains, terrain where you see Toyota Trd pros jjeeps, and everything and I get a lot of compliments on it.

Tyler was great working worth it, no pressure to buy. Drove my new truck 3 days in a row before purchasing it. No pressure each time, had some issues and concerns. They addressed most issues I pointed out. Was able to make a deal on the truck I was happy with paying. I am a mechanic by trade, I looked this over before buying. There are cars/trucks at 507 that are cheap beaters and priced accordingly, but not much different from what i seen driving down Tacoma way and pac ave. They also have a good selection of nice cars, it’s a big used car lot. Just look over your vehicle you want, they will even let you Bring it to a mechanic to look it over. 507 is worth a Shot to at look see what they have!

The stereo system is great, ride is smooth, great visibility, plenty of interior room , love the paint color, plenty of power , great braking ability and self parking is a great option

Bought 2006 Ram SLT 4x4. Still own it. 246k miles. Standard maintenance, shocks, struts, power steering pump. Little rust required. Truck is more than most can expect. I wanted a truck that would last and give good service.

I have had my Dodge 2500 since 1997 it is now the year 2023 they have $235,000 Mi on it original everything and make sure oil is changed tranny has changed and up-to-date on its normal two nuts it's been a very good vehicle for me

November 12th 2024, I bought my Dodge Dakota SXT 3.7 L, automatic 2x4 from the original owner, it was a commuter truck from Fredericksburg Virginia to DC I picked it up with 258,000 / Now 290k , It's been a great truck for what I need. I'd like to find a machinist and get the heads redone. The bottom end should be pretty good but I'll give it a good look through when I have the funds. Just keep up with simple maintenance especially with suspension and steering parts don't let things go too long cost more money. That has been my experience with many vehicles. NO doubt, I do like this DAK!

Best used truck I've owned. Makes the 3 rd Dakota I've owned. 1st pre-owned. Daily driver still today. Has plenty of power and rides great. And handles on the road awesome. And with the 4.7 I pull several different types of trailers.

This my 2nd Dodge Dakota, I would recommend another one to anyone who wants manual truck. My 1st was 1997 Dodge Dakota, I actually prefer the 97 style to the 2006 model, this year would make my truck 26 yrs old. Still on the road, just has a few maintenance issues, still planning on keeping my 97, gonna put it in the shop for some TLC. I guess what I am trying to say is that the Dodge corporation made one xxxx of a truck, I believe that if the 2006 last as long as my 97, then this will be my last truck. Nothing better than shifting gears with the windows rolled down, going 60 mph.

I bought the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT Mega Cab Diesel Heavy Duty as a dealer demo with 8,000 miles on it. Didn't need a mega cab but needed to replace my 1996 so they offered it to me for a deal I couldn't refuse. I have to say, it's a monster and I love it! Have had minimal issues other than the ECM going out at 110,000 miles and Dodge wouldn't warranty it. It tows anything I hook up to and with diesel prices in CA, I can brag about 17 to 21 mph around town and 27 to 30 on hi ways. Towing can cut mpg in about half, if you get stuck in slow lane up a grade, but still, who can boast about that with 195k miles on it today. I agree with the reviews on parking and turn ratio but I can back it in easier than doing a 3 point pull in at any parking lot. How's that for lady with a big truck!!
