I purchased a 2005 Eddie Bauer edition Ford Explorer from 33 Auto Group for my son. Dealing with Julio and Sergio was a very pleasant experience. Both of these gentlemen went above and beyond anything I have experienced or expected from a car dealership. The Explorer was just what I was looking for and I got a great deal on it. I am one very happy customer and would definitely recommend 33 Auto Group. Thanks again Julio and Sergio.

Didn't feel pressured at all

My husband and our daughter stopped by this dealership to look at a car I saw online. To my delightful surprise, it was on the lot. Beautiful car! We were immediately greeted as we got out the car. I did not any pressure at all. This is important because we were just looking at what our options were for the moment. The salesman's name is Mike Staelens. He was informative and willing to help. I asked to see the inside of one of the three vehicles that appealed to me on the lot. Maybe I didn't feel the usual pressure and hovering presence most car salesmen's give because he was helping another customer at the same time, but this allowed us to inspect the car at our leisure. I asked for the carfax and it was promptly made available to us. I have read the negative reviews above... either I got lucky that I ended up with Mike or it was too busy of a day for me to experience any of the above mentioned. Before even looking at the carfax I was informed the vehicle I was inquiring about did have repairs due to an accident. I can appreciate honesty. Now, how severe the damage was? I wasn't there so only my worst imagination could take hold of that thought. However, I did ask. . . if I available if i could take this particular vehicle for an inspection with my mechanic of choice and without hesitation, Mike said "yes" . If you aren't willing to do the research then on what you want and what you are willing to live with or not. Ask questions and do your research because you invest into buying a car new or used. Thank you Mike for not being a pushy sales guy. It definitely allowed us to think about what we love of the vehicle really weigh the pros and cons of that particular car. I am scheduling my mechanic for Friday to look at this car. It will cost us extra, but piece of mind is priceless for a second opinion.

My favorite hybrid

I bought this car slightly used, and I have kept up the maintenance diligently, so this car has been a favorite of mine since the test drive back in 2010. The mileage is wonderful for a small SUV - it's better in the summer vs. winter - and it's roomy enough for me and my husband. My only sad (re)view is that Ford has stopped making Escape Hybrids. I will look into the EcoSport Hybrid in several years when mine finally decides to go to the car graveyard.

Wow! Never been so impressed with a dealership & my praise doesn't come easily. I come in the door skeptical & knowing the salesperson is trying to make a sale, but probably doesn't have my best interest at heart. I'm a single mother & expect the salesperson to take advantage of that...but Roy didn't. This is the 2nd newer used car I've bought. I took my time on this one & visited MANY dealerships. I was very open about that & Roy never seemed judgemental or too pushy about buying with him or his dealership. He let me look (uninterrupted), but was there when I had questions. I visited his dealership WHILE TEST DRIVING a vehicle from a different dealership. No problem! He not only allowed me, but offered to me & recommended I test drive several vehicles! By several....at least 3-5 with his dealership alone plus 5 more at other dealerships as I was struggling with staying in a crossover/SUV versus downsizing to small car. Everything was at MY convenience... squeezing in my visits, shopping, texts, questions, etc... between working full time, running kids from school to football to basketball & more. He was never too pushy when I didn't return a call or text for too long. He realized I have a busy life. When I had 15 minutes to return a car I was test driving....He quickly got the keys and let me leave without trying to keep me there and take more time. He gave me options that were in my budget. Never pushed further. Although, I was looking for newer used, he provided the pros & cons leasing & buying new. NEVER PUSHED. JUST INFORMATIVE. He was honest about pricing & what he may be able to do & absolutely could not do. When we agreed to a purchase price via text that he had discussed with his boss...We set up a time for me to come in to sign paperwork. Upon arrival there was some discrepancy, which made me reluctant to do anything & immediately I assumed the normal car dealership garbage & fakeness was finally coming to the surface.....however Roy went to bat for the agreement & the dealership was not only willing, but eager to honor the agreement, especially considering I had taken time out of my schedule for the purpose of buying a car THAT DAY. Definitely increased my confidence in them. Roy did many special things along the way. Very kind. Soft spoken. Honest. The dealership staff was also was very friendly & helpful. Massage chairs! Many snacks & drinks they offered my kids when I drug them along every single visit after school or sports and they were hungry. They have a pastor that routinely visits the staff! How awesome is that! Roy spoke so highly of the owner & how the company does right by customers & employees! I am impressed & would return to this dealership in a minute. Through my dealings with other dealerships, things seemed sketchy, pushy, reluctant to be patient with my decisions or wanting to wait for something different.... I FELT NONE OF THAT HERE. Matter a fact ...I returned to shop over the course of 2-3 months b4 finally deciding to buy... at least 5 other dealerships visited. Finally bought with them! I've had the car about 4 months now & no regrets.

I bought this vehicle originally because it was highly recommended to be pulled behind a RV. Which the reviews were correct. It was very simple to set up for being towed which is a huge advantage compared to other vehicles. In the intern, I am very impressed with its gas mileage and reliability. It has 157,000 miles on it and drives and sounds new yet.

My boyfriend and I drove 4 hours from Iowa to Crestwood Auto Auction to check out a used car. Shaun was very helpful and kept in touch answering any questions or concerns we had. When we got there Shaun and his coworkers had problems with the car battery and replaced it right away. The car was in great shape and we gladly bought it. The car is still running well.

Pretty decent hybrid SUV 4wd

Pretty great car. Drove very smoothly and had pretty spacious trunk storage. Everything seemed pretty reliable except the transfer case which I had to replace two times ($$$). The electric hybrid part only goes full electric when under 25mph, and then assists with gas acceleration above 25mph, so on highway you get about 33mpg, then in the city you can drive pretty far on all-electric so you get a lot more mpgs. Over all I feel like it’s a great car as far as mpgs for the city (under 25mpg) but on the highway it’s a little above average. Mpgs aside, this car is pretty nice.

191,000 and drives like new!
by Catastrophe Adjuster from Dallas

I bought my front-wheel-drive 2007 escape in 2009 when it had 74,000 miles on it. I have driven it nearly 120,000 miles since then while carrying a heavy duty 28', 24' and 12' ladders on a custom roof rack to support the weight. Besides tires and oil changes I had a $700.00 cooling pump go bad at 80k miles(defective part for 2006-7 models). At 180k I had the front drive axles replaced for $350. This car has run perfectly otherwise. I average 26mpg at 65mph and it drops to 23 at 70mph. I've driven fro Dallas to Houston and at 55-57mph got 36mpg. Nowhere will you find such value in a SUV. The hybrid batteries are basically indestructible unless you get rear-ended. New York City Escape taxis average over 300k before being auctioned! Need I say more. I'm buying a second one with 4wd for a back up vehicle in case of an accident. Love this car. Oh yea, it's got a standard electrical outlet for laptops or small electronics !!!!

Mark McLarty Toyota Review
Saved me a lot of money!

I needed an outside rear view mirror replaced on my ???98 Camry. After a mix up in the parts order, Eddie recommended I go to a salvage place for the mirror assembly. He even told me the name of the place. I went, found a rear view mirror assembly almost the exact color I needed. It cost me $11.12 (as opposed to $520! I tipped the mechanic who pulled the mirror $20.00. A friend put the mirror on my Camry in less than 5 minutes. He didn???t charge anything. I would have had to pay McLarty $125 for installation.. What I appreciate about McLarty is that they were honest and didn???t seem to be greedy to rake in the dollars and were willing to provide an alternative to the repair job. At least Eddie was. I was refunded the $76.00 it cost to order just the mirror alone through Toyota. So $645 vs $31.12 is quite a saving!

my first car

This is my first car -- though I have driven many, many others over the years. I was looking for an SUV-style for the height-clearance, a hybrid for better gas mileage, and a newer model in hopes of less necessary repairs. (Wishful thinking sometimes, I know!) This met all those requirements and was being offered for a good price, so I did a test drive and decided to get it. The on-ramp pick-up isn't amazing, but it's not as bad as I've driven before. The handling is sound and secure, even in windy conditions. The turning radius is good, which surprised me. I've averaged 31-32 MPG, but it could definitely be better if your daily commute is over 15+ miles (mine is less, as are most of my errand trips). The interior noise is definitely present, but it's not a concern for me. The speakers, especially in the rear, are better than most. Fortunately, the previous owner maintained it, so even though the mileage is rather high, it passed through my Car-X guy with praise. So far, I've been really pleased.

I have been to several dealerships while searching for a new car and this, by far, was my favorite and it's where I will return to purchase my car. They had the selection I had been looking for, the sales team was helpful & knowledgeable, without being pushy and they have proven that they will work with me on my financing criteria. What more can you ask for?

For a four wheel drive 26 mpg's is great. The interior noise level on the highway is an issue. I am checking into either dynamat or other noise mitigating options.
