I have had my zx2 for years and love how it handles on the road. There is little to complain about except maybe the repairs that have to be done. These are probably needed on every car sooner or later but none the less, I have saved enough to cover that and more in gas $. The gas mileage is great, I only have to fill up once or twice every month. The mileage comes out to about 25 or 26 miles per gallon. Overall a great car!

In 2020, yes, 2020, I still drive a bright red 2002 Ford Escort SE. I bought it as my first car in 2018 for $1500 (80k miles) with the only issue being AC needed to be fixed and a new bulb for a blinker. I will say that my friends do jank on me for having an “old ugly car” but honestly I love my Escort! I do agree with the other reviews, it idles and vibrates badly. However, it has never left me stranded. The only major problem I can say that has to do with this car is that a lot of the small parts are very hard to find for it now-a-days. Currently my IMCR is stuck open causing the check engine light to be on, makes gas mileage bad, and for the car to idle even worse. Not a major problem but frustrating when you can’t find the part to replace it with. Overall, I definitely recommend this car to anyone needing a cheap reliable daily driver. It accelerates pretty well, brakes well, and is fun to drive! If you take care of it, it will take care of you!

I still have my Escort (98) I am the 2nd owner and have spent little to keep it in good condition. Low on gas, may not have all the bells and whistles the new cars do, but I don't have payments and she's only left me on the side of the road once. Had her over 12 years. Great little car. Worst thing about car is as I've gotten older it's hard getting out of it due to being low to the ground.

After considering all my options, I decided to purchased a new '98 SE wagon because of it's versatility, value and predicted reliability. Though the ride is a bit bumpy & noisy, the manual 5 speed provides plenty of pep. Cost-wise, the battery, struts & tires were replaced, and fuel efficiency continues to be excellent. Shortly after buying the auto, I took a new position literally right around the corner from my home, so my mileage is slightly under 41K. It's dependable, versatile, and Still fun to drive - one of Ford's best products.
