Used Ford Explorer XLT for sale near Matteson, IL

Great experience salesman was awesome. Took only two hours from the time we got there till the time we were driving off the lot bought a really nice car for a low amount of money.

I purchased the 2022 Timberline preowned about 1 month ago with appx 50k miles on it. I was disappointed that it does not have memory seats or a garage door remote button. (I didn't even notice this when test driving it). Who makes a car today with all the tech this car has and leaves off these 2 things! The interior is comfortable & well laid out. The ride is smooth & quiet. 2.3L turbo 4 cylinder is quiet & has amazing power. At idle it’s hard to tell that the engine is even running. The prior owner put on Michelin tires which contribute to the smooth, quiet ride. The seats are ActiveX (Ford’s name for vinyl) with cloth inserts. I’m 5’ 10” and 175lbs. My son who rode with me is 6’ 3” and 250lbs. Both of us found the seats comfortable & supportive on our 1st road trip. I’ve driven a Kia Telluride, which is a direct competitor. The Kia has a little more tech but I found the ride to be on the harsh side, especially in the second row. This may be attributable to the low profile 21” tires. The Timberline has 18” balloon tires which I much prefer. 2 weeks after purchasing it I made a 2,200-mile road trip from Dallas TX to Orgon. Fuel mileage ranged from 21 to 28 with an overall average of 24 mpg. *if I don’t drive over 70 mph on the highway the fuel economy goes up to about 32! *these numbers are from the actual miles & gallons of fuel used, not from the dash numbers, which I found are a little optimistic. It has a few bugs that I’ll have to deal with, but it’s a used Ford & not a Lexus. Overall, I'd say I'm very happy with this car & would recommend it.

Wife's car ,working at home not many miles low 20k as of2024 June. Still I wonder about trans fluid because of time. Problem that bugs me is the radio. Static in AM off and on ,and of course the business station 1220am about the market. UGH!! Third lease of explorer, so low in miles ,made it a purchase. 🤞👍

I love my ST all except for seating. I’m just not a fan of European style seating soo we had an upholstery shop up grade them. Sooo much fun to drive! Great gas mileage considering I’m a lead foot. And when needed you can put a full 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back.

Best Ford, other than a pickup, I've ever owned. Minor issues and recalls. All fixed or checked expertly here in Woodbridge VA. Only 80,000 miles. All highway. Tows a trailer perfectly straight. 4X4 with tow package. Getting ready to sell. Nobody else in the house to use it ! Lol

Taylor Ford of Manteno set the bar across the board for a perfect remote experience. From the moment I reached out with a brief inquiry on their website and their sales people were not only responsive, but extremely kind. They assisted me with walking me through the entire process. It is very hard to buy a car sight unseen but the videos and information made it easy. They even went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied even AFTER my purchase . Driving it few days later. I love this vehicle. My 2022 Ford Explorer XLT far exceeds my expectations. Handling is great. Performance is far better than expected. Gas mileage is 26mpg combined average for the 16,500 miles I have on the vehicle so far. The interior fit and finish could be better and the original tires...not holding up very well. The vehicle is comfortable and always a pleasure to drive. I always get compliments on the exterior style. In my opinion, it's one of the better looking SUV's on the road. The rear biased drive train give it superior handling, better than anything I test drove. Chevy, Subaru, or the Kia.

Amazing experience!! Jim went above and beyond, would highly recommend. The service needed was tended to accordingly and in a quick manner. This is the best Kia service center that I?ve been too, hands down.

This is my fourth Explorer. I decided in 2018 to order the top-of-the-line Platinum. This vehicle has all the bells and whistles for a person that wants the luxury of one of Fords top models. It has Platinum leather seats that are very comfortable. If you can find today, buy it. It has the 3.5L V6 that has great power on acceleration. You can only buy a V6 now on the 2025 Explorer ST which is a 3.0L. The cost is around $60,000 Loaded.

Although pricey, this truck is awesome to drive . Very sharp looking and runs fast! I highly recommend ! We went from a Flex to this car and it was a seamless transition.

I currently own a 2020 Ford Explorer XLT (used, bought with 50k miles). Before this I used to own a 2015 BMW X3 Xdrive28i. Now people reading this would be astounded to hear such a bad review for a german luxury vehicle. IT. WAS. TRASH. Sorry, BMW fanboys, but that is true. Anyways, coming back to the Explorer, it was a lot, lot better. Better mileage, Better comfort, A ton of space to even pack up to 5 large suitcases and five big boxes with only the third row down. Considerable performance and power for a massive three row SUV, compared to a “apocalypse ready, tough and rugged” Jeep Wrangler. Very sturdy car, fun to drive around. And really handy when you’re like me who decided to hit the road from Miami, FL to Cypress, TX (😁). I was worried whether evreything would fit in, but apparently there was way more space than that! Also if you are a parent with an infant, you will have NO problem fitting in a child seat. Another thing is that I use an iPhone and my wife uses a Samsung. It is compatible with both carplay and android auto. Now the best part: this is the most stylish SUV under $30k I have ever seen except for a Jeep Grand Cherowkee. My final verdict: The best, affordable, 6-7 seater SUV you can get on the auto market. And I am saying this not only from a driver-standpoint, but a parent as well. I have read other people’s reviews, and some will disagree with me. But after all, it is an automobile. Whether it be a million dollar Rolls-Royce or a Bugatti or a Ford, it is still developing. I am proud of what Ford can do. I highly recommend to those who are looking for a reliable and safe car, buy a Ford. They are incredible.

Sold a 2018 Honda Civic 2 dr coupe on Friday, 11/14. Alex was absolutely great. They purchased the automobile for exactly what they had quoted. The moment I walked through the door, I knew this was the dealership for me. First things first, no pressure! I was braced to be swarmed as soon as I walked. But no, just a wide selection of vehicles, chill sales people and most importantly no pressure to buy. I told them the car I wanted to test drive. 2016 Platinum. Nice SUV, comfortable, very powerful, decent fuel economy, fair build quality, but there are some things to be aware of; the AWD models have a PTU (power transfer unit) which sends power to the rear wheels. It is positioned very close to the exhaust, and the heat generated by the turbochargers literally cooks the gear oil in the PTU, causing it to fail. The unit only holds about a quart of oil, and is NOT serviced or checked, even when you have the vehicle serviced at the dealer. We had trouble with the front camera, and the recirculation actuator on the climate control. If you are considering a used Explorer, I highly recommend buying the best warranty you can! The only complaint I have is the road noise. On new pavement, it's quiet, but on all other roads it's VERY loud inside!

Bought a brand new Subaru Forester Hybrid Sport from them. Andre was great at showing us both the regular gas and hybrid versions. They didn’t have the color we liked in the hybrid, so they found it from another dealer for us within a day and gave us a good fair price. Very friendly staff there who do not try to pressure you into buying vehicle extras like some others do.

I often drive to the Michigan upper pennisula in the winter. This SUV has never disappointed me. One time I was driving up to Sault Ste Marie early in the morning. The road was slippery with blowing snow. The outside air temp was MINUS 41. i was alone with hardly ever seeing another vehicle. I kept thinking "trust this vehicle" because my life literally depended on it. I had no problems. And everything was on high - the defroster, rear defrost, heated steering wheel, heated seat, radio and keeping my phone charger plugged in. And in case you wonder why I would venture out in these conditions - I was called for jury duty and made it on time !! It has also gotten me out of deep snow.

Have only had vehicle for 3 weeks but really like it. I’ve had F150’s for the past 12 years and thought I’d miss my truck, but I’m really enjoying this explorer. It’s more comfortable and fun to drive and the gas mileage is better.

2017 Ford Explorer. I love my car. It runs great but I have had battery problem and trim has blown off my car on freeway. Have not had a lot of problems with it.
